Totally TMI.. but pad/undies suggestions??

I have Kotex overnights bought. I don't remember bleeding through things being an issue last time and I used them.

So yes this may be tmi but one of the things I'm most worried about/dreading is the bleeding after labor. No idea why, it seems like such a silly thing to fret over considering everything else we're about to go through! However my mind flashes back to my pre-pill days where my periods were horrible and whenever I wore a pad I always ended up bleeding all through my pants/onto my sheets etc... it was just a mess and not something I'm looking forward to going through again. So I haven't used pads (tampons only) since I was about 13! And as crazy as this sounds and tmi as it may be I've also only worn strictly thongs since about the same time. Anything else feels like a diaper and I despise panty lines! So as silly as it may sound I was wondering if you ladies had any recommendations for which brand/kind of pads and even undies to buy for post-labor bleeding. I read on another thread that Always brand can react with stitches... what the the what!? I feel so silly and lost. :dohh: Thanks!!

I haven't read all of the replies but I was told to get a 5pk of disposable panties and some maternity/labour pads!

I too hate things like that as I wear skimpy undies and have used tampons for years but my sis has been there 4 times and said you'll want to throw away the first few pairs as the bleeding can be quite heavy.

Also take an old pair of joggers or pjs to wear (dark in colour) in case you leak - hope that helps

U will want to be comfy so granny pants a must!! I think with DD bleeding was heavy ish for like 3 days after then like a normal period for another 3 days then it stopped. I was expecting it to be much worse! ur body may surprise u!!

Yup, cheap cotton undies, overnight pads (any brand), and I also kept one of the disposable square incontinence pads on the mattress at night (in my case, under my chest as I had crazy over-supply for the first while and would leak constantly, but if you're worried about bleeding these are also great)!

cheap cotton granny panties and overnight pads- I had a section last time (and will again) so the undies had to be higher than the incision line

the issue with regular Always pads is the top of the pad is made of that sort of "mesh" type stuff so the stitches can sometimes get caught in the little holes.
