trace of blood in urine sample at 38 weeks

Hi all

Had a midwife appointment today and she said there was a trace of blood in my urine... she wasn't concerned as have no symptoms of urine infection or anything. She did say though, that as I have had period like pains for a week now, and baby is engaged, that it could be a trace from my show?

Not had show yet but has anyone had this? Could it mean things are starting? No trace of any mucus or blood in knickers yet but am now getting a bit excited as my BH contractions are strong and frequent.

Any advice appreciated!

I'm not sure, but blood in the urine usually means an infection...but if you BH are strong, and baby is engaged, pressing on bladder, could be irritating the urethra, hence blood, but it sounds like you may be on your way to something happening
