Ok so bub is now nearly 4 days old and since i got her home i`ve been having trouble burping her and she gets really unsettled and cranky and vomits consistantly after feeds its really upsetting i do have quite a bit of milk would it be because she is over feeding?

Do you have an over active let down?

yer i think so i`m just so full i have to express for her to be even able to latch on then it just goes crazy.

Just hand express some out and then try latching :)

Yeah if you have ovractive LD, you have to burp much more often. Every couple of swallows take her of the breast (let it leak onto a small cloth or breast pad) and allow her to burp before putting her back.

She will be a lot happier and her digestive system will thank you! :)

could possibly be reflux. Reflux babies are harder to burp. If you go to the doc's they might prescribe an antacid ... depending on how bad the reflux is.
Also, rub the back instead of patting as reflux can be quite painful and uncomfortable for babies.

Seth was really hard to get wind out of until he was a couple of weeks old, we were told to just grin and bear it unfortunately.

If she's sore a bath sometimes helped him :)

My bubba was the same... reflux babies are hard to wind. We are using infant gaviscon, infacol and sometime gripe water.

The hard thing is you are not meant to use gripe water or anything like that till bub is 1 month old. we go for a 1 week check up on wednesday it just feels so far away and i don`t know what more i can do she is so uncomfortable and restless

I know. I didnt use gripe water till 2 months. But infacol is suitable from birth and does help.

thanks its so upsetting its past midnight here and i am sitting here awake she has gone off to sleep but very restless and i can tell she has wind oh i take that back she is now awake

Is babies bed inclined? Also, you will have to make sure babies latch is really good, so she doesn't take in too much air.
The first few days after birth I didn't sleep a wink, because I sat in a chair while baby slept on my chest which helped the wind.. but it certainly wasn't a permanent solution. Also he used to spend a lot of time during the day in his car seat where he was far more comfy than the bed. But got him out in time so he didn't develop a bad habit of sleeping there all the time.
I hope it gets better soon!
Not sure if you get an equivalent for infacol down under.
Keep us posted.
