Hi all,

Since I found out I was pregnant my cervix has felt pretty high. Not so high I couldn't find it, but definitely high. This morning it felt lower and a little firmer. No bleeding and very minimal cramping since I got pregnant (just kinda here and there, normal cramping from what I hear. I'm just feeling nervous now that my cervix seems to have dropped. :( bad sign? I need to put my mind at easy. First pregnancy!

Help!!!

Didnt want to read and run i have no idea. What position its supposed to be when your pregnant. xxx

Mine's been moving around a bit too, I don't think it settles into it's high and soft position until around 6 weeks. Try not to panic! It's probably just all the hormones flying around that's confusing it :)

I wouldnt even know how to check, sorry I cant help - as I know nothing and didnt know you were supposed to check then I wouldnt panick

Thanks guys. I just always worry about everything. :p

I am 11 weeks and mine is still moving around a bit and still feels quite open. My MW has said not to worry - that cervical position has nothing to do with viable pregnancy!
Sooooo...just try to relax. I know, it's much easier said that done. The way I try to see it, as being pregnant after a loss is difficult, is that there is no point in looking for all the signs that something is going wrong. You will know if you need to worry!!
Happy and hethy 9 months to you!!!
xoxo

Thank you SO much!!! :hugs:

Totally normal. Don't worry about it at all.

Don't take this the wrong way but you really don't know what you're doing to be feeling around in there. Just because it is lower or it feels open doesnt mean that it means youre going to miscarry or start your period since the cervix moves around so much during the day. its not a good indicator of anything other than ovulation. I suggest stopping checking that, because there is an internal OS and external OS and the external one can feel open and internal be closed but you really don't know what you're doing so please leave this to your doctor.

Its completely normal but now you are pregnant i would not go checking it or poking it. I would leave it be. :) xx

Ok!!! Good advice. I got in the habit if checking while ttc. Now I will stop! :)

I wouldnt even know where to find my cervix and have never checked myself. I agree with meghan - probably a better idea to leave it to the doctors. You're not going to achieve anything by checking it at this stage anyway and who knows, poking it and prodding it unnecessarily might be detrimental. I would leave it alone!
