Hi ladies I need your advice.

After what seemed to be a painless, crampless light period of brown and pink blood for the 3rd now , today I've assumed that i'm out for the last cycle:cry::cry: and on CD3 of a new cycle today. I plan to take Soy Isoflavones this cycle from days 3-7. I've been on vitex/agnus castus for the last 2 and a half cycles which has worked great and I still want to take it this cycle. However, I read on some BnB threads that both should not be taken together. What i've not found an answer to is if I can take Soy from CD3-7 then resume taking vitex?

Any advice or comments please, thanks very much

Don't wanna read and run, but I am curious to find out the answer as well. I have no idea tho! My guess is probably not, but that's just a guess~

I don't know anything about Vitex but if it has soy in it at all i wouldn't take it as that can mess up your cycle, the Soy Isoflavones you are to take only 5 days.

I have also read that the two cancel each other out. I'm stopping vitex 2 weeks before my period is due (I've also read that it takes 2 weeks to leave your system), and I'm going to be doing soy days 3-7 as well. Then nothing else but robitussin and baby aspirin until I hopefully see a positive baby test! I've been on vitex for several months, and I like it too. It also helps build breastmilk up too! Just one a day though.

That sounds like a good way to go! To be on the safe side

thanks so much for all your replies.

i started soy last night on cd3. i'm trying the combination 80, 80,120,120,160mg. does that sound good?

i'm nervous that if i don't take vitex i may not ovulate till very late or have anovulatory cycle. i guess i'll have to take that chance.

it's my 2nd cycle on geritol and will be using preseed and soft cups around my fertile period.
:dust:

That sounds good! Soy works to stimulate ovulation like Clomid does, so you should O. If not, you could always try to up your dose ;) Your supposed to ovulate within 6-10 days from your last dose of Soy, from what I've read. I'm trying geritol this cycle too, but this is my first try with it.

I used both Soy and Vitex last cycle and conceived the twins i lost - i learnt afterwards they cancel each other out too.

It is my first cycle since, i stopped the Vitex 4 weeks ago and have taken 200mg Soy again days 3-7 now on day 11 of cycle.

i have started baby aspirin too :)

sorry about your loss bump2baby. i'd love to have twins. ...that must have been so hard:hugs::hugs::hugs:

i bought some baby aspirin last cycle because i read somewhere that it helps with implantation but i didn't get to take it because i read loads of arguments that you are only allowed to take it (with dr's permission) if you've had miscarriages and have blood clotting issues...so that scared me away from taking it. any comments on that?

I've done 2 days of soy now and i've tried taking them before going to bed at night cos I hear if you have any side effects you get to sleep them off. I've woken up twice with bouts of nausea yesterday morning and this morning as we speak. on the first night i woke up very hot and threw the covers. besides that i'm okay so far fx'ed.

i really do hope i O early. FF has estimated cd26 but that's just too long :nope::nope:. If you're right powell i should ov' at the latest cd17.

:dust:

That was on shorter cycles. I've personally read about ladies Oing on it as late as CD21. How long are you cycles usually?

I'm taking baby aspirin but I had a MC at the end of June. A friend of mine who went to a fertility specialist about her many MCs advised me to do it.

I saw it on the forum and decided to try even just one cycle with baby aspirin, it can't hurt more than not getting me pregnant which is the same situation I'm in now lol

I had no side effects of Soy and took them around 8am each day.

Before conceiving the twins i took 100mg, 100mg, 150mg, 150mg, 200mg and 200mg days 3-8.

This time I've taken 200mg days 3-7 and am currently day 12 of cycle.

That's great you had no side effects from soy! That makes me feel good. I'm gonna take mine in September...and I'm so excited. I see you took them "6" days. Interesting. I might do that too. I'm also going to take aspirin...even though I dont have miscarriages. I also read it doesn't hurt, as long as there's no bleeding problem. Was taking soy you the only fertility treatment you used? I'm taking soy to hopefully up my chances to release two eggs.

hi ladies,

hi powell, sorry to hear about your mc:hugs:
you don't want to ask how long my cycles are, they're quite irregular ranging from 37 days to 120 days. it's been significantly reduced since starting vitex in april.

i'm on the last day of my soy intake...i did 80, 80, 120, 120, 160 but contemplating making it 200mg tonight but i'm not so sure.
is doing a 6th day a bad idea? i thought it was strictly 5 days?

Me too! I always heard 5 days....then I started snooping around the internet and saw that once in awhile you'll see a lady who takes them 6 days. One lady says her dr even said to take them 6 days. I think I might try it too!
