Hi Ladies, I just thought it maybe a good idea to start a thread for us ladies who have a high BMI and trying to conceive.

Here is a bit about myself...We have been trying for about 5 years now with no success at all.
I have had a lap done last Sept and they drilled my ovaries and removed a small cyst. In March this year I started clomid 50mg which did not work for me, then in April it was upped to 100mg again this didnt work for me. I have very irregular periods as it is...the dr says i have Pcms syndrome...hmm
i went to see the FS yesterday (i was still bleeding) i told him that my last cycle seemed as short as 15 days...he did a scan and it all looked the same, no progress at all...he then checked my cervix and found that i have a cervical Erosion (which is what could be causing alot of the irregular bleeding) he told me that i have to have it lazered off...also he wants me to get a Hystoroscopy again at the same time as he needs to check my womb out...
He has asked me to stop the clomid now as he reckons he has given me the max dose he could (100mg) He then said if i want iui or Ivf then i have to pay for it coz of my bmi...i felt really sad yesterday...i couldnt stop crying...i feel like we have gone backwards 100 steps...im still feeling sad today and just want to cry everytime i think of it...and on top of it all im at work!!! Has anyone experienced any of this, also does anyone pay for treatments...if anyone could give me some advise or information i would be very grateful.

The max dose of clomid I have been on was 200mg. so I dont know why he dident continue to increase your dose. maybe ask him if he will give you a larger dose if not try another doctor.

I have never heard of having to pay because your overweight. they should not discriminate against people overweight. good luck hun.

Lisa thank you for your post. I got in last night and the hospital have already sent me a pre assessment for my surgery...i may aswell get that done 1st then see what goes on...im just completely fed up now... x
