trying to decide baby name but there is a problem

My husband has children by an exgirl friend and there names are Chistopher for the boy and Chela for the girl. I don;t want a common name for my baby. I have a name that is not in the baby books. I have a few names but keep getting shot down by my husband.

David Richard for a boy but that name was shot down cause Richard is his ex-s brother in law and he is a pot head. But Richard is my dads middle name who died when i was 15 yrs old.

He dose not want the baby name after my mom cause they hate each other. the other name is

Oliva (I have yet to figure out a middle name)

Now i have found out that he ask his dead best friend sons if we can name the baby after her and did not tell me. I don;t want to name our baby tammy so any sujestions that any one have please let me know.

Well maybe you and your OH can both look thru baby books and online sites together and compile a list of "maybes" that you both like... and then start eliminating until you come down to a "short" list. I don't think your husband should be promising to name the baby after someone without discussing it with you first! And i think it's silly to shoot down the name "Richard" as a middle name bc of a random person from the past! Perhaps you can try to sit down and discuss baby names more with your OH! When are you due?

If you wanted to name the baby after Tammy but don't like it you could go for Tamsin - its my name and I love it but hate Tammy!!! Just a suggestion but perhaps not the perfect solution!
