Hi all, I am finally breaking down and posting here after trolling for months.
My husband (28) and I(28) have been TTC #1 for 18 months, we were referred to a fertility clinic after 14 of those. Had an HSG on August 21, one tube showed the ink/dye spilling out while the other showed patchy ink/dye in the tube with nothing spilling out. My doctor said she wasn't sure if it was blocked or not and that she needed to speak with the Radiologist. Getting the results on September 4. We also will get the results back from all the other usual tests then as well. Took months just to get an appointment with the fertility specialist. :nope: This waiting is driving me nuts.
Anyone have anything similar to this during their HSG? What was your diagnosis? If one tube is blocked what will happen? Sorry for the question frenzy. Any advice from you ladies will be extremely appreciated.

Also, my sister's wedding is on September 6, she is newly pregnant after TTC for 1 month  and my best friend will also be there who is again, also newly pregnant. I am happy for them but it's extremely hard to be around them both with everyone being so happy over their pregnancies. They know about my situation but no one else does. Sticky situation. Trying to be positive that my turn will come but I am quickly loosing hope.

Hi, I had been TTC for 1 year when I had my HSG, which showed the same as yours. I remember the radiologist saying the results were not perfect but not to worry cos I would get pregnant, it might not be easy but it would happen. After my doctor saw the results, and considering the general diagnosis, she indicated a lap to rule out endo. My OH and I decided to wait two months for a decision to enjoy the summer, and I got pregnant on the second month that summer, after 14 months never having had a BFP.

Wow, that is excellent. I get my results in 2 days. I almost hope one tube is blocked so that we have a reason for this taking so long. Thanks for your response!

if you have a blocked tube, then the HSG should do it! :dust:

Hi! I really hope you get the results you want. I've been TTC for 16 months and am going for my HSG next week. I totally understand how you feel; part of me hopes they don't find anything but the other part is just hoping for an explanation as to why it's taking so long! I'm 24 so I'm definitely in peak fertility age and yet it's taking forever with no obvious reason. So frustrating! How was the HSG test for you? I hear it can be a bit uncomfortable. I'm a little nervous.

Got my results back from the hsg. All clear, the radiologist thinks the dye spilled through both tubes. Apparently sometimes one tube can appear blocked if the other spills the dye first. Hmm. All my other tests were normal as well. SweetPea the test was mildly uncomfortable for me with very minimal pain. I had a few cramps after but nothing like normal menstration!
Unfortunately my husband's SA results were not so good. Low volume and low counts. Going for an in depth review on the 25. Fingers crossed the results will be better and these first results were stress related. Anyone with low sperm count husband's have better results on the second go round?

Thanks for the info! I'm pretty nervous about it but I've heard from multiple ladies that the HSG test isn't so bad. My man had slightly low volume on his test and they didn't bother to test again because everything else was good. He said he figured the volume would be low because the process is so uncomfortable it felt "forced". The nice thing is, I've read that there is so much that can be done to help low volume and counts, everything from eating healthier to taking certain supplements. I have faith that you two will get it figured out in no time!!
Unfortunately my issue is still completely unexplained but I'm hoping to HSG will give me some answers!

You need one open tube, you can do a monitored IUI cycle as well to ensure you're ovulating on the absolute known side, and IUI helps remove less than desirable sperm BUT they have to have a certain number after the wash to be done

Although my HSG was clear my ultrasound showed several ovarian cysts. Apparently severe endometrioma. With my DH's low sperm count we have been told IVF is our only option. My doctor said it's 99% certain that I will never conceive naturally. Ah! So not the results we expected. :'(
