My boyfriend and I finally decided that we were ready to start TTC. We both want a baby extremely bad, so I've been stressing a lot about not being pregnant this month (it's our first time trying). I've heard that a lot of woman can't get pregnant right away, but I've also heard that a lot can.... I just don't know what to think.
I had EWCM on the 5th & 6th of this month, and was estimated to ovulate on the 9th, however I think it happened sooner because after the 6th my CM was no longer EW. We "did the baby dance" on the 5th, 7th, and 8th this month. On about the 10th I started feeling naseous and had slight headaches; this lasted for about 2 1/2 to 3 days. Ever since O my CM has been watery and I've been having a lot of discharge (which is unusual). I tested a few days ago because I was anxious & couldn't wait any longer. I tested at 8 DPO and received a BFN. My boyfriend and I both expected that because we thought I was testing to early, it really made me upset and I lost hope that this could be our month. Should I retest on the 20th (19 DPO) or should I just go ahead and count us out for this cycle?

My husband and I are on cycle #10 and we don't count us out until AF shows up. One thing that I also try to do (emphasis on try) is not test until AF is due. For our emotional health, it is better for us to wait closer to AF due date. Another thing is try not to symptom watch. While it can be helpful it can also be misleading. In July I could have sworn I was pregnant. I had sore boobs, I was CRAVING guacamole (I made a special trip to Chipolte), and I was super tired. That night AF arrived.

We've been TTC for four months now, and I'll have to agree with raine. Symptom checking and testing too early just take a toll on you. I've thought three months in a row I was pregnant because I symptom spotted, and all of the BFNs really do get to you. My advice would be to start temping, and if you don't get your BFP go buy some OPKs. Temping is one of the best ways to indicate if you're pregnant early or not, and OPKs help you DTD at the right time so you maximize your chances.

Good luck and baby dust to all!

Thank you both for your responses. The first BFN did take a toll on me, so I've decided that from now on if AF doesn't show up I'll test & if she does, well, we can always try the next month. I've been doing a lot of research on my "symptoms" and this has just caused me to get my hopes up high, so I'm still hoping for the best. In future cycles though I'm gonna wait longer to test and stop wondering if every little sniffle is a sign of pregnancy.

I have really had to step back and stop testing so much. I have been depressed and very doubtful (partly to just my personality, I am a realist). I know it is tempting to test and I do cave and test early but I also try to make it impossible for me to test throughout the day (I urinate frequently even if I don't have to so it's not concentrated).

I agree with PP. And for CM you can have watery CM and still be fertile enough to O. My OBGYN recommended to BD(baby dance) every other day to every other 2 days from cd 10-21 and you'll hit all your bases. :)
