TTC#1 Any advice please...

Hi everyone

I was just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar to my situation........

I stopped taking my pill on the 8th March 2011, had withdrawel bleed on 13th March and had nothing since. I have been on the pill for 8years.

I know it's advised to have at least one 'proper' period before trying to concieve but I'm really impatient and have already started TTC.

i have done a test which was negative

Chances are you aren't ovulating yet... Sometimes it takes awhile for womens cycles to get back to normal after birth control. Especially if you have been on it for 8 years. You should see your doctor, if it's been two months since your last period he/she will probably prescribe you Provera to bring on a period. He can also prescribe Clomid to help you ovulate (which is like Soy Isoflavones but stronger.. but do not take both)

Then I suggest taking Soy Isoflavones or Angus Cactus (Vitex) to help regulate periods and bring on ovulation. I'd suggest trying soy before Vitex... Vitex has been known to mess up some womens cycles. You take Soy on Clomid days: CD1-5, 2-6, 3-7, 4-8, or 5-9. 80mg-120mg.

Also charting your bbt is a great way to see your cycles. Fertilityfriend.com is the best site to track ovulation. Your temp is low after your period and before ovulation, then it rises the day after ovulation and stays up until your period. Unless you are pregnant then it will stay up. You take it every morning at the SAME TIME with a basal body themometer. I got mine for $10 at CVS.

I'd just keep doing what you are doing until you get a period, then consider starting to chart. It can take a while for things to regulate after your period, which can be a great time to learn how your cycle works. Fertility Friend (the charting website) has a great charting overview that I recommend.

I started vitex right after getting off bc and I was on BC for 20 years. I have had a normal cycle ever since and got my bfp after 5 months of trying! I love vitex!
