TTC #1 - Brother/sister in law 'not preventing' - NEED TO VENT!

I need to vent!!

DH and I have been 'not preventing' since June 2014 but haven't started trying until this month. DH's brother just got married 2 months ago to a girl we aren't very fond of and we just found out a couple weeks ago that she has already gone off the pill and they aren't preventing anymore....we are so irritated!! I wouldn't be surprised if they get pregnant right away either, that's how it always works right? I'm so frustrated because now I feel like we have to REALLY start TTC to almost compete with them and hopefully we get pregnant first, they have no idea we aren't preventing either. We want everyone to be surprised when it happens for us. I'm so frustrated and really hope we get pregnant before them, we would be the first in our families and we want that excitement and almost feel like they are trying to take that away from us. Can anyone else relate? Any advice? I'm really trying not to stress out about this and don't want the added pressure or disappointment if it doesn't happen soon, I just don't know what to do.

Ohh I can really relate to this.
We planned a while ago that we'll start our TTC Journey in March and I know my in laws and all relatives in family will be very happy to hear this news.
But in March only i got to know that my Sister in law is 2 months Pregnant.
That was heart breaking. I was hoping that i'll be the one to give this news to all but..
This was very difficult to accept but as they say time heals everything.
Also we need to understand that its there child and there future. They can plan it the way they want. They can decide when they want to bring a baby in world. May be we were a bit late. They are just building there family, nothing else. You need to be positive

Thanks! I'm glad there is someone that can relate, I just need to focus on myself and TTC our baby and let everything else fall into place. If they're meant to have one before us, then I guess there is nothing I can do about it, I will be disappointed but I'll have to get over it.

I definitely know how you feel! My SIL is pregnant with baby #3. Before she got pregnant I was venting to her about ttc and then all of a sudden she tells me she is pregnant! I was in rage! I asked her if they were trying and she said "no it just happened". All her children are only 1 year apart. She is fertile mertile. Our families keep asking my husband and I "when are you guys having a baby?...you have to catch up now!" Although I am bitter about it...I'm also happy for her! It just sucks that I'm on cycle 3 of ttc and nothing yet 😞

That's what I think I'm most scared of, the 'it just happened' since they aren't preventing but not trying. This is our first cycle of really 'trying' so I'm hoping it happens soon but it wouldn't surprise me if she ends up pregnant first or soon after. Although they are in the process of moving so I'm secretly hoping that stress keeps them from BDing for a while lol I'm horrible.
