TTC 2nd baby 6+yrs

I had my 1st baby at a very young age of 17, I took on the responsibility, hard work and Joy of motherhood very well. When my son was 2mnths old I met my husband and just after my boys 1st birthday we decided to try for a baby together, expecting that it may take 6mnths to a year before I got pregnant and then by the time our baby was born we would have what we considered the perfect age gap. Its 6yrs later and still no new little family member has come along. We are young and healthy and for the 1st 5yrs the doctors couldnt figure out why we were unable to conceive, what a frustrating and emotional roller-coaster that was. We were referred to fertility associates in Hamilton and within a day they had discovered I dont ovulate atleast some months and my husband has a low sperm count, we were told if we had only 1 of these issues then we would probably be fine but with both our chances are slim to none. They have scheduled us to start a long cycle of IVF in may next year and until then I am trying clomid. I am on the 17th day of my 3rd cycle, I have had plenty of side effects that when I asked my doctor about he just said not to worry, they dont monitor the process here except for a day 21 blood test to see if its working. We dont have any support groups in my local area and I have tried to confide in my friends and family but with all of them having atleast 3 children they dont understand, I give them credit for trying but I just get pity and thats not what Im looking for, Im trying to find people who know exactly what im feeling so I dont always feel like im alone in this heart wrenching struggle

Thank you 123Deirdre, it is really good to get it off my chest and reading through the posts and success stories on here has helped a lot. We are all hopeful and wanting the same thing, its not anything I would wish upon anyone else but it is also nice to know there are other people out there that understand the feelings I have, best of luck to everyone

for the past 3 days atleast I have been getting excruciating pain on the right hand side of my abdomen and electric shock type pain in the rest of my tummy. Could this be an effect of the clomid or something else? I have my day 21 bloods tomorrow and specialist appt on friday, do I wait or do I go see my GP sooner?

Have posted a new thread now. I have had a lot of discomfort throughout the whole time taking clomid but this is way more severe, has eased off quite a bit with rest though so think if I take it easy until ive seen the specialist then I should be fine. Heres hoping its nothing negative.....

Thank you Missy, it always helps having people to talk to who know exactly what you are going through. This has been an extremely long journey with plenty of ups and downs and im sure there will be more to come. I am happy to be here for you to chat to aswell
