TTC 3 years Help ????

OK everyone i need you help i been TTC for 3 years……

Started Period: April 30th
Period Ended: May 5th

Had sex: May 6,7,9,11,14,16,17

Fertile window: May 9-15

ok so my question is…i been having slight cramping on the 12th then the cramping has been getting a little stronger (not bad painful) and tender nipples. SOOOO yesterday the 16 i just decided to go to the dollar store and get an ovulation test and it came back POSITIVE both lines BOLD red….. so i wanna know how does my month look on getting a BFP. Also when after a positive Ovulation text do you Ovulate?…and how often more this month should i have sex pls help lol xxoxoxo

oh and when should i test for pregnancy??

I think you have a good chance this month looking at your BD schedule and fertility window, however I have no idea about your infertility factors and struggles.
I tested positive 7 dpo, but this isnt very common. Two weeks after ovulation (14dpo) is a good time to test. Good Luck!!!

My major question is how you determined your fertile window was May 9-15? If you're basing it on general averages instead of your OPKs or charting from previous months, I would encourage you to use OPKs and chart going forward, if you don't get a BFP this month. Plenty of women don't follow averages (I sure don't!), so assuming your body does what is "normal" can cause you to either miss or not optimize your true fertile window.

Generally, women ovulate 24-48 hours after a + OPK. But again, for me, that wasn't the case. I would test + for ~10 days and would ovulate in the MIDDLE of the positives. (It was completely bizarre, even my OB said she'd never seen it before and had no explanation for why it happened.) That's why it was only through using OPKs AND BBT that I was able to figure out when I was actually ovulating. Nothing about my cycle was "normal".

As far as your chances this month, it's impossible to say, but if I were you, I would BD a couple more times, to be safe! Good luck!!

After a positive OPK you will ovulation 24-48 hours later with 36 being the average. You should have a period or be able to get a positive on a pregnancy test 14 days later, give or take since come women have longer luteal phases. If you got a positive OPK on May 16 you ovulated the 17th or 18th. Which means you should be able to get a positive June 1. Sometimes it takes longer for the HCG to be high enough to trigger a positive. If your period hasn't started by June 3rd you could be pregnant.

I agree that if you have been ttc this long and have just been using an app or something that is telling you when you are fertile then you could very well have just been missing the egg!

I would suggest using Fertility Friend to chart your cycles even if you do not want to start tracking your basal body temperature (you can look at mine its in my signature) This will tell you how long your cycles are. I would also use ovulation tests when you get a positive (the test line darker than control line) then you can chart that in Fertility friend. You normally ovulate about 24-48 hours after first positive opk. I usually have 2 days of positives and then ovulate the 3rd day. If you are temping this is usually shown by a dip in your temperature. Then the next day you will notice a rise in your temperature. 3 days of a higher temp you will get cross hairs to confirm ovulation.

Once you get to know your cycle it'll be easier for you to determine when you should dtd. I would say if you got a positive ovulation test on the 16th then you either ovulated the 17th or 18th. If you dtd on the 16th and 17th you have a good chance. For future reference (once you know your cycles) if you are pretty consistently ovulating on say cycle day 18 then I would dtd on cd 15,16,17,18,19,20 assuming that there are no male issues. This will cover your bases and make sure there are plenty of sperm where they need to be.

For now though you can dtd every other day until a positive ovulation test then everynight for the next 3-4 nights.

Your luteal phase will always stay the same. usually about 14 days. So if you count back from the day of your LMP April 30th that will put you ovulating around April 16th. if you count back from april 16th to the day you started AF before that that will give you an idea of what cycle day you ovulated on.

Its a lot of information and I'm not sure how much you do or don't know. I apologize if you already know all of this, but if not you can ask me any questions and i'll do my best to help
