Hi ladies, I suffered an ectopic pregnancy 12 days ago which resulted in emergency surgery to remove pregnancy and my left tube, desperately want one more baby, looking for any kind of advice really, one tube is this gonna make it harder, when is my cycle going to be normal again, anything related would be of much help thank you xx

Hello 4thstar I am sorry for your lost I too am recovering from an ectopic pregnancy back in march. This is my second in about 6 months. I did not lose a tube I was able to be treated with a shot. I was told that if I was to get the surgery that I would still have a chance of having a baby because the egg would be released from the other tube. I have seen success stories on here about women who have become pregnant with just one tube. I know it is easier said than done but try to keep faith and think positive. I am praying and hoping for you BFP soon.

I am s sorry for your loss, I too had an ectopic 6 years ago this month and lost my right tube. I have not had any luck with a successful pregnancy, just chemical! I've heard many great success stories and hope you will be one of them. I wish you the best, I'll be praying for your BFP.

Hi 4th star. I had an ectopic in April last year and also had my left tube removed (laparotomy). My cycle took a little while to come back (around 9 weeks if I remember it felt like forever) but I got pregnant the first cycle after that. Unfortunately I lost that pregnancy due to other reasons ( we had a scan at 5 weeks which showed it was in the right place). Again it took a while for my cycle to return but I got pregnant the first time I ovulated from my right hand side. So far so good - I'm 22 weeks today.

It took 5 months to get pregnant the first time with 2 tubes but only one month and two months with one tube.

I joined a board with some other ladies who had ectopics and they all seemed to get pregnant quite quickly.

I hope this lifts your spirits. I remember the horrible hormone crashes after my losses and just want to say you will be pregnant again so hold onto that thought!

Look after yourself. X

Hi ladies,

I had an ectopic back in 2010 and my right tube removed, and approx 8 weeks later I was pregnant which resulted in my little rainbow baby who will be 3 on Monday..

Keeping my fingers crossed for you xx

I'm so sorry, an ectopic is so hard to deal with as you have to deal with physical and emotional pain

I had an ectopic where I lost my left tube 5 years ago, 4 months later I was pregnant with my son who is now 4, and I am currently pregnant with my second. It took me a long time to be game to try to get pregnant again after my son, so we left it for about 3 years, and it took just under a year after having my implant removed to get pregnant with this one

I think my cycle came back to normal about 5 weeks after surgery and I waited 3 months before TTC again (as recommended by the surgeon and my Ob)

I think the stats are that you're fertility is only reduced by about 40% after losing a tube, as you can still get pregnant from your non tube side, your body adapts and the egg is collected by the tube on the other side which sweeps across, both my pregnancies have been from my tube side, but a friend of mine had a little girl from her non tube side

Hope this helps in some way xxx
