TTC after Pelvic Inflammatory Disease

I had PID a few years ago after having an STD. I got it sorted out but I'd had it for a while without realising and the doctor said I have a 1 in 5 chance of being infertile now. Me and my partner have just decided to start TTC. I'm really afraid I will turn out to be infertile. has anyone else had this?
