Ok .. my husband and I have been trying for seven months to conceive with absolutely no luck. My doctor had put me on proverra to try regulating my period but it seems I was also having problems ovulating. I am now on Clomid and have questions for women who have been on clomid or have conceived on clomid. My husband and I only want to have one child with this pregnancy and we heard that by taking clomid on cd 3-7 we have a higher possiblity of having multiples rather than taking is on cd 5-9. Is that accurate? Also if I take the clomid on cd 3-7 is there a higher chance of conceiving rather than taking the clomid on cd 5-9? I appreciate everyones help and information and lots of baby dust to all of you out there trying to conceive !!

I think the likelihood of conceiving on clomid is about the same no matter what days you take it as the earlier you take it the more eggs you make and aking it later means you get one amazing egg.

The risk of multiples isn't that high so long as they start you on a lower dose to see how your body reacts. The reason the stats are as bad as they are for multiples is because too many people are put on clomid that don't need it or started on a dose higher than their body needs

For most people that are anovulatory the clomid just makes them the same as a fertile couple.

Good luck honey, Hope that put your mind to rest a bit.

Oh my goodness it does !! thank you sooo much for the information !! I feel so much better about taking it now and I am hopeful for the future !! Have an amazing day and again thank you soooo much !!

I am on 150 mg of clomid and 2,000 mg of metformin this cycle. I am now on day 6 of my cycle, and the last day for me to take clomid is tomorrow. I've been TTC for 2 1/2 years now, and they found out I am insulin resistant. Hoping that the clomid will work for us, I've taken it only one month before and had no results; I didn't even ovulate. So, hopefully with this metformin I will at least ovulate! Did your period end on its own with the Provera? I have a problem of a never ending period (the longest period I've had was 9 mths straight with no stopping), however it seems to be ending on it's own and it ended on day 5! I'm hoping that I'm starting to regulate out, that is one of my dreams so that I know I'm normal and then maybe pregnancy will follow lol. Good luck to you all, this TTC journey is probably one of the hardest obstacles to overcome.

welcome felicia

Nice to meet you, wow I cant imagine what bleeding for that long would be like you poor thing. I hope clomid + met does the trick for you. Period ending sure is a good sign.

Good luck sweet.

Lol, that 9 months was definitely a challenge. If I hadn't been so stubborn about medical bills I would have went to the dr. I even had medical insurance, just knew they'd do tests and I would have to pay the remainder lol. When I did go I was almost hospitalized, so they put me on iron immediately and I went on b/c pills for 3 months along with the metformin. I went off the b/c pills in December so I only technically had one cycle since then, I did have to take provera though to bring on my period. That came 3 days after my last pill and lasted for 5 days; I just don't want to get my hopes up. We've been trying for over 2 years now, and I had done other things before to try and get this under control; I still haven't been able to regulate yet though. I hope everything works out for you as well!

I'm sorry :( What mg of Clomid are they giving you? There have been tons of success with clomid so hopefully this will do the trick! Have they done any tests, I'm surprised you had to wait this long to finally be given Clomid. Best of luck to you though!

Well that sounds great; however what is estrodoil levels? Lol I'm learning new levels everyday on these forums. I would hate to do injectibles and that will be our next step if I don't ovulate this round. I can't ovulate for the life of me.

i ovulate on alternate months, illb taking estrogen from day 1 to 10 and clomid 50mg morning n evening on day3 to 7,then progestrone from day 14,hope this cycles gives us bfp

Felecia it is just estrogen levels taken a couple days before ovulation. Basically for every 18mm folical present it gives off between 200 - 600 pg/ml estrogen so 1047 is pretty darn good :D Yay! Have they or will they try you on metformin often it works in people that clomid doesn't work on.

Also so more good news. I got a call from my FS today to arrange another appointment on the 19th of April to organise an IUI if need be. yay

Pink mum Your chart looks pretty good. :dust: for the next couple days wait. Have you tested yet?

That's great news!!! I am currently on Metformin 2,000 mg. I started on it October 2011 b/c I found out I'm also insulin resistant. I started on 500 mg, then 1,000 mg, then 1,500 mg, now on 2,000 mg. Hoping this helps, I just got off birth control pills in December so I've only had January to full just be on metformin alone. Hopefully things start coming together. I'm so glad things seem to be coming along for you!!
