Hi all, this is my first post here!

I've had four pregnancies, four healthy babies, and my husband has a daughter also. Together, we have five kids! :) We're TTC our "together" baby to complete our family. It's been four months now of actively trying, and no positives yet. I definitely am aware that it can take some time in our 30's, but my cycles aren't quite "normal". I had two cycles that were 30 days long, then 28 days, 30 days, 28, and 30 again this month. A few months before these cycles, they were kind of all over the place. I'm not sure if this new pattern is considered normal, but it's time to call the OBGYN. I have to find one, actually, because we just moved to a different state about a month ago.

I've only used OPK's for one month, and I did get a positive, I just wonder if I actually ovulated or not. I thought about charting and doing temps this month, just to see if I get that spike, and that drop. I never had any issues before with my cycle, so this is all new to me.

Anyone else here have any input, or some of the same issues?

Sorry I don't have much input. I haven't used OPKs but a lot of ladies seem to swear by them. Cycles of 28-30 days seem not too abnormal though. Sometimes my cycles vary by a couple of days. Good luck!

Temping will confirm and so will a cycle day 21 blood test with your doc! Good luck! :)

You should definitely temp. It helps to figure out when you ovulated and confirm that you still do ovulate. As for your cycle, it's normal. Let's say you have an adv cycle of 29 days. If it comes on cd 28 or 30 sometimes it's still regular. I wouldn't worry unless it was early or late by a week or more. My cycles are 28 to 30 days too. I O around cd 14 to 17.

I think a fluctuation of a couple of days is pretty normal, and if you got the OPK by about day 15-16 you are probably ovulating. There's no reason not to see an ob/gyn but keep in mind they will sometimes tell you not to worry until you've been trying for at least 6 months--in other words, they might not take you seriously. But a reproductive endocrinologist will. My RE told me that OBs think everyone can get pregnant because all they see are pregnant ladies and REs think the opposite, because they just see those of us who have trouble. They can do some preliminary tests to see if everything looks okay.

Keep in mind that it's possible your husband has an issue. In my case, I went through all sorts of tests and everything was normal, and it turns out my husband has low sperm count/morphology/motility. It seems like they typically try to rule out issues with the woman first but that's kind of pointless if the problem lies with the man! If I were to do it again I'd insist on running a sperm analysis before getting too involved in too many tests for me.
