TTC for a year with a very confusing menstraul cycle

Hi everyone!! We have been TTC for over a year now but it has been a very confusing and stressful year! My menstrual cycles have been all over the shop, I've not been able to predict anything at all, and even tracking temperatures and ovulation testing has been incredibly difficult. I realise that it is probably just my body taking a long time to react to no longer having the pill, and that is what the GP has said, but I am finding it worrysome and stressful!! I had an operation in June, which probably also hasn't helped.

I have had a few cycles that have been 5 months long, and 2 months ago I actually managed to detect a hormone spike using an ovulation test. Last month I had a blood test on day 1 of my period (after 5 months of trying to get a doctors appointment within the first 4 days of my cycle) and the results came back fine. So I am feeling a lot more positive for this year!!

I joined babyandbumb last year when we first started trying and now after a year of not being able to talk to anyone about it I wanted to come back and share my experience. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi!!! I wasn't able to accurately predict ovulation this cycle, I don't know if I started testing to late or something, but based on NY last two cycles I am a week into the two week wait. Fingers crossed!!!

Hi charlic! In 2013 I had one episode of (doctor thinks anovulatory) bleeding in 10 months after coming off the pill, so I know how crazy and frustrating that can be... it's hard when you don't really know when to time or monitor anything!

Glad you were able to finally detect an LH spike and hope you get your BFP soon!

Hi charli, sounds like we are in a similar boat. Baby dust to you!
I just had the witch show up Wednesday after I really thought I could have been pregnant ... ugh. I've also been TTC for 1 year with no luck

Zoey - I also had a super long cycle after 6 months of being off the pill and I don't know but I'm assuming it was or could have been anovulatory as well. It was an 81 day cycle. Prior to that my cycles were 40-50 days after coming off the pill. Ever since the LONG cycle on the summer though, my cycles have actually be better 30-40 days in length, my recent one was only 31 which is AMAZING for me!! I don't know if that long cycle helped reset things or what but I hope things keep getting better as they have been ... still no BFP yet though ... Trying to stay positive although its tough!

Omg congratulations!!!!! I am SO excited for you!!!! I know you said you were a year into ttc already so you have given me renewed hope since I also am 1 year in!

Keep feeling positive it will happen!!! My mum took a year to concieve and my friend took 18 months... it feels like its never going to happen, especially when your body isnt cooperating but it will!!!!!!!
