So, I'm new to this board. I have 2 grown DDs, but I remarried in Apr 2014 and started TTC right away since DH is childless. After 6 months, I was diagnosed with extremely low AMH. I've done the clomid thing and one cycle of injectables with IUI. I've gotten 2 BFPs (within the last year). The first was ectopic and the second was a MMC at 9 weeks. I actually had to take a pill to complete the loss process on the day after my 41st birthday.

I've been taking multiple vitamin supps for many months (D, E, B, and Omega 3-6-9). Two months ago, I added DHEA, Maca, and Ubiquinol to the supp list.

I had a pos OPK today and for the first time since my injectable cycle, I'm having extensive O pain. So, I'm a little hopeful but only a little because I know my odds are practically non-existent of getting and staying pregnant with my own eggs.

Anyone else older in age, have low AMH, and/or taking tons of supps every day? I'd love to hear your story.

Hi, what have your clinic suggested, is it worthwhile trying iui again or move onto IVF?
Would you consider donor eggs?

At 41 I'd be reluctant to waste too much time with supplements when really IVF will give you far better odds.

My RE says he'll do another IUI if I wasn't to try but IVF is the suggestion. I would consider donor eggs. The issue is the cost. So, DH and I are going to start stashing money away for a trip to Greece for a DE IVF if the next IUI fails. It's going to take us a while to save up the money, but my understanding is that we have a little more time if we're willing to do DE IVF.

I don't mean to dash your hopes but I'm sure IUI isn't really recommend for ladies over 40 as the odds are so low. You might be better putting the money into your ivf fund.

Hi, I am in the same boat as you pretty much but 3 years now TTC. I had a little boy 4.5 years ago and then have been trying for no 2 for 3 years now. I have just turned 41 and have clocked up 2 miscarriages and a few CP over the years with the latest miscarriage in February. I was diagnosed with very low AMH and told unlikely I would conceive with my own eggs. Devastated, I went to see a different gynae and have done extensive reading.

Your ovarian reserve has no bearing on you egg quality! And 41 is not that old to conceive. I have since discovered many, many women conceiving without problems at our age. I am about to see an endocrinologist as my new gynae thinks in may have pcos.

I would advise that you get all your hormones like thyroid & vitamin levels checked and full blood panel as your problem could be a simple thing that's out of whack and may be easily fixed.

I'm on my 3rd try with Clomid, 3 cycles each time. I believe I may just need to crack through a few bad eggs but I will eventually get a good one! Don't lose hope and good luck to you!

Hi there ttc74 :flower: don't lose hope there! It seems there is lot of us around same age trying for :crib: I'm also about to turn 41 soon. And actually we also did have IUI this winter. My gyn did say i do have a good reserve of eggs so we could keep on IUI's but after few tries it seems hopeless. As we have also had mc's from natural cycles.

Now we are heading up to IVF, and I'm also trying the alternative treatments. Today is my first acupuncure  that is said to help boost up in ART cycles aswell as in natural.

I'm also a fan of supplements, i have been before we even started ttc as I do not believe I get all the vits from the food I eat.

Hope you the best :hugs:

Hi all! Just an update. I have a 5 month old LO! She was conceived naturally while I was taking maca, ubiquinol, and dhea.

WOW! Congrats!!!! What is ubiquinol?!?!

TTC74- I saw from your original post that you have low AMH. If you don't mind me asking what is your FSH level?
I recently found out I have high fsh and will be getting AMH results next week.
What dosage of dhea/ubiquinol were yout taking when you conceived your LO?
I'm currently only taking vitex but am looking into taking dhea/CoQ10 as well.
I'd love to hear what worked for you as I am feeling quite lost.

I don't remember my fsh. It was considered normal. My AMH was almost undetectable, though. Here was what I was taking -

Ubiquinol 300 mg
DHEA 100 mg
Maca 500 mg

Good luck to you!
