TTC Forever - Trans vaginal scan next week

Hi girls,

Just wondering if anyone can relate atall or partly to what im experiencing.

I am due for a trans vaginal scan next week as for the past 6-7months ive been experiencing horrendous period pains, to the point of being crippled,doubled over and crying.
At first it started and it wasnt every month, now its every month, and getting worse. Last month the pains woke me up from sleep, and instead of them being on the day of my period it was 3/4 days after. The pain is accompanied with really bad bleeding which is odd. I only bleed for a day or 2 max.
The pain is like an awful throbbing/contraction which hurts when i pee, and just to walk. Its a constant sore tender feeling all down the lower part.
The only thing that eases it is a hot water bottle.

Im at a loose end as these pains are fairly recent and must be for a reason. Im currently going through IUI and am due for my 3rd next week, i've cancelled it as i dont want to waste a go, when i think there could be something wrong.

I've read alot about Fibroids but they say with that you bleed alot, which i dont.

Can anyone shed any light?

I have horrendous period pains as well. They are absolutely awful. I don't have fibroids. My doctor says it could be endometriosis, but I'm too chicken to have surgery to find out. Hopefully, they will figure out what's wrong with you and fix it.

do you have bad bleeding with it too or just normal?
I wish someone would tell me whats wrong, if the scan shows nothing then i may have to push for a lap.

Have you just recently come off birth control? I know that can somethimes make periods very painful while your body settles down x

I recently had one horrendous af like that, ended up at out-of-hours doctor. The only time I've ever felt pain like it was when i was in labour (almost 17 yrs ago). I mentioned this to the doc and she said it was mt uterus contracting to pass large clots. I bled very heavily, had to take tranexamic and mefenic acid tablets. I had moderate pain for a week after it so I went to another doc who said it sounded like an infection and gave me 2 antibiotics which calmed things down. I would request a swab test for infection to make absolutely sure it wasn't that first.

I get it almost every month though? but what confuses me is that i bleed normally,nothing amazing atall - but the pains are horrendous

That is really odd, I get terrible pains with my period about twice a year. Its strange for me too, it comes all of a sudden and then it just feels like horrible tearing inside of me for a few hours, then afterwards its hard to even sit down in a chair. I think mine are cysts (at least thats what my gyne and I agreed). Have you been tested for endo? I really wish I could speculate with you about what it might be, but its hard, I don't know. Hope you get it figured out soon

Hi Hays...don't know if you remember me but I know how long you have been ttc. Interesting you mention this....for the last 5 cycles my periods are heavier and I pass huge blood clots and cramps so bad..I would rather be kicked in the face with steel toed boots!!! No amount of Midol works. I have also found that cramping happens throughout my cycle..not just before AF. I have recently had a pap and bloodwork done. Waiting to see my doc on July 23rd to get results. I have been googling and have read a lot about fibroids,cysts and Endometreosis (sp?) Keep us posted if you get any news

Hey, no havent been tested for endo. My appointment is today with the gynae and should also have my scan today too. I thought about cysts too but who knows, like you say its hard to know.

Hi Dee yes i do remember you love. Yours sounds similar to mine but i dont have the blood to follow it, so bizarrre. Let me know how you get on ok, and i will too
