I started Letrozole on cycle day 3-7 (September 6th-10th) and tomorrow I go in for an ultrasound to check my follicles and for the HSG test.

Yesterday and today, I’ve had mild cramping on the lower right side, which I always get around the time that I ovulate. Has anyone else experienced this while going through fertility treatments? We will be doing IUI this cycle, but I’m worried that I might be ovulating way sooner than expected.
Today is only cycle day 10.

Any advice from anyone that’s been through this would be so appreciated! This is our first round of fertility treatments.

Just a few more details:

I’m 26, my husband is 27, and we have an eight year old son. We have been trying to conceive for over a year, found out that his sperm count is low, and so far all of my tests have been normal.

We’re seeing a reproductive endocrinologist and we are supposed to be moving forward with IUI next week some time. I have not taken the trigger shot yet.

UPDATE:
I went in today to get an ultrasound to check my follicles and to get the HSG test done. They ended up not doing to HSG test since I’ve been having some cramping that last two days.
Instead they triggered me today and I’m scheduled for IUI tomorrow, but I only have two follicles. One on the right at 19mm and one on the left at 14mm

Hi,

Two follies is better than none or way too many little ones. :hugs:

Some times you can feel like you are going to ovulate or are because the follies are growing so big. Yours are considered already mature at 19mm.

FX you make a baby this cycle!! I know how stressing all the timing can be.

Will you be testing the trigger out? If you decide to peak at it, I wouldn't until 10dpo. You will see it get lighter or darker at that point. And not have to go crazy like I did with testing from 6dpt. How much trigger did you take?

I’m usually able to tell what it is that I’ve got going on throughout my cycle, but with all of these hormone and medications, I can’t tell anything. My Reproductive Endocrinologist had me Trigger in the office on Friday, the 14th at about 11:30 am.
Then they had me come back the following day, the 15th, and they did IUI around 2:00 pm.
I started permetrium on Monday the 17th.
I’m only 2 DPOIUI and maybe 3 DPO. I hadn’t very light spotting yesterday evening, my nurse told me this morning that it could be implantation bleeding, but that seems far too soon.

I feel the same way. All the hormones made me feel so off.

The spotting is normal from your cervix. Should be old blood though. I know my first iui this year was botched and I was bleeding so bad because they didn't know what they were doing (another story)

6dpo should be the earliest you will see implantation spotting. I really hoped this iui worked for you. :hugs:

I’m so sorry that your IUI was botched. I didn’t know that could get messed up.
Mine seemed pretty text book and easy. I could definitely feel everything that they prepare you for.

That’s what I thought too! All the research that I’ve ever done has always said that implantation happened between 6-12 DPO. Usually averages at about 9 DPO.
So, when my nurse from my reproductive endocrinologist’s office told me that it was probably implantation bleeding, I thought for sure that she was crazy, but then I started searching the internet and saw that many reproductive endocrinologist offices state that implantation 3 DPT is actually quite common, so I have no idea.
I am just trying not to lose my mind or test too soon. I feel like time is moving by so slow.

I'm 32 DH 33. We have been together for 11 years TTC for about 3. Had a Laparoscopy about 2 weeks ago. They were able to clean out one tube, but had to remove my right fallopian tube (along with my appendix, but I won't miss that).

Just had our follow up and we will be doing pretty much exactly what you are for my next cycle. I will be taking 12.5 mg of Letrozole days 3-7, and the ovidrel trigger at some point after the cycle day 11 ultrasound.

I’m so sorry to hear that you have had tubal issues. That is terrible, but I’m glad that they were able to get one open. I hope that this cycle is a lucky one for you!
Please keep me updated, I’ll be sending you all of the good thoughts and vibes that I can!

I'm glad I found this thread. I do not know much about the IUI process or the medicine. I am crossing my fingers for you! I won't have my first IUI until sometime in October, any insight is well appreciated.

It’s pretty easy, just a little nerve wracking with timing and having to things that you’d normally never do.
The process is really easy especially if you have a good doctor. The waiting is the worst of it.
You’ll start Letrozole, then you have to wait, get your ultrasound, then wait, then you’ll do the trigger, then wait. Etc.

Just make sure that you’re also doing your times intercorse. Don’t skip it, even if you’re tired.
The ultrasound to see your follicles is going to be really uncomfortable, they have to put a lot of pressure to look around and find them.

Then the IUI, for me, it didn’t hurt at all, but it was very uncomfortable. I had very minimal cramping though.
I’m 8 days post Trigger and 7 days post IUI now.
