TTC Very short cycles!! 14 days :O

Hi. New here so please be patient with me.

In December 2012 I had my last injection (Depo Provera), so effectively off the injection from end of Feb 13...11 months ago. In March 13 I started on the pill. I was on this for four months, ending in June. So 8 months ago.

So for the last 8 months we have been ttc. I havn't gone crazy with it, not charting etc but I expect that with my cycles it would all be rather pointless anyway.

I have VERY short cycles. Since coming off BCP they have averaged between 14 and 16 days long. I expect this isn't even long enough for me to ovulate, never mind actually carry to term. Every month i get my hopes up, i think maybe my last bleed was implantation bleeding not AF. I do usually have very light bleeding, consisting mainly of brown blood with the rarity of very heavy red blood on occasion (maybe twice since ttc).

Last month on CD16 i spotted, and the next day there was nothing, so im not sure if i can even class that as a cycle?! If it was then I should be due today, CD16 again, yet AF hasn't shown her ugly head yet. I did a HPT on Wednesday which was (not suprisingly) a BFN!

I have been to the doctors, sadly i got a junior doctor who seemed more nervous than me. However, he referred me for CD3 blood tests and triple swabs, neither of which i have had yet as my cycles have seemed to gone hay wire since, making it almost impossible for me to plan.

My question to you ladies is, firstly....is there anyone out there in the same boat as me?! I research short cycles and all that pops up is people complaining of 24 day cycles....thats what i dream off!!

Secondly, has anyone conceived naturally after having such short cycles?!

Please any response will be appreciated...I'm starting to loose my mind!!

Hi Smophy,

I have normal cycles, and I'm sorry that your post hasn't gotten any responses.

I would recommend using fertility friend, as there is a feature that will allow you to search the charts of other women with short cycles.

Hi Smophy,

Just wanted to let you know i was in the same boat! It turned out that i had a uterine pollyp (sp? lol) that was causing my bleeding, same as you, every two weeks, and always a different amount/colour etc. They found it on ultrasound, and then i had a sono done - the one with saline, ouch - and it cleared. since then things have been normal... I know there were a few possibilities, but i had just come of the pill as well, and the hormonal changes can cause pollyps.

anyways, hope that helps! we're still trying, as even with normal cycles i don't ovulate for some reason, so we're starting on femara next cycle...hope you can sort of whats going on with you!!!
