Does anyone else feel like they have hostile cervical mucus? My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 5 years now. We had a miscarriage during year 2. We have never stopped trying and it can be really hard and frustrating because the only answer we have for not having one is that God says it is not time. It is extremely hard when it seems like everyone around you is having a child and people keep asking you "when are you guys going to have one?" But I feel that is my problem. I have had dye shot in my tubes, everything checked, he's been checked... just not happening. I love children, i want children, and I feel like I am just destined to be a mother. I think it is because of my CM texture. We have been using pre seed off and on and I believe this is what helped us last time. But since we have gotten back on it a year ago, no luck.

Have you had a post coital test?

Our RE did this as one of his first tests. We were advised to do the deed and the next morning went in to be swabbed. He then checks the swab under a microscope to see if there are any living sperm. He let us have a look under the microscope to see 4 very slow moving sperms. He said we were borderline. They expect to see 5 and over after a number of hours has expired.

This simple test will answer your questions.

no I was never advised that. I will speak to my Ob about a post coital test to see what they say. This would be a very good idea. I guess if it is less than 5 then I would be diagnosed with hostile cervical mucus?

Thank you for your advice!

Yes, I cant remember the numbers exactly, but it was something around there.

It was pretty cool to check the sperms. We had our first IUI that day too and he showed us the prepped sperm under a microscope too. Thousands going berserk, what a difference from the previous slide.

Side note: that is not what is causing problems for us, after 3 failed IUIs my RE suggested a lap to see whats going on and lo and behold I have stage 4 Endo! My uterus lining looked like the moon with craters all over it, so he said due to that that implantation was impossible. This is our first month trying since the op.

I hope your doc will do it for you.
