Hi all,
I'm new to this and wonderd if anyone else is in the same position? I came off of BC in November 2010 - 1st cycle off BC was after 30 days, I started planning for my peak days using my 30 days as a guide, my next cycle was 35 days long, after plannng for 35 days I was then surprised that my next cycle was 48 days!!!!! The following cycle was also 48 days, i'm really worried and was looking for some advice?

I've started charting my BBT this month so hoping that will reassure me that I am actually ovulating.

Thanks in anticipation.

hey
im in the same boat, after being on the pill from 16-24ish now im nearly 26, i didnt actually know what was normal for my body, so when i came off the pill i had a very long peroid when i bled lightly for a very long time, then my cycles started getting longer and longer.

there from 40-70 odd days.

Im on my 8th cycle of trying to conceive and just started taking agnus castus and evening primrose oil which is meant to regulate your cycle. so read up about that ad maybe give that a go.

also the stress of trying to conceive can stop your peroids even if you think your not stressed, the doctors wont do much as they say it perfectly fine to miss periods unless it been 6 months of not having 1.

there are a lot of women on here in the same situation x

Charting and temping will definitely help

I didn't get a clear positive on an OPK this month but temp has dipped and shifted up a gear so at least I know I am still in the game this month! I don't think you'll find many people who ov bang on day 14 like the textbooks say. Good luck and fingers xx'ed your cycles settle soon

I took AC (vitex) and that has really helped me - Sometimes I would O on cd30 and this cycle was 17 with taking ac. Charting will also help you figure out when you O and if you O. AC can take a couple months to kick in. If you check my charts in my siggy you can see my different cycle lengths so hopefully ac will continue to work.

Thanks for all your responses - really appreciate any reassurance!

I was on BC for over ten years with no other break than the 7 days each month! I went on BC all those years ago so I guess my cycle never really had a chance to regulate so fingers crossed time will work it's magic.

This month we're trying every other day until I see a rise so fingers crossed.

xxx

I agree with the above, BBT charting will def help. :) Charting is such an eye-opener, IMO. :)

And no worries, too; some women regulate immediately after coming off BC and others do not. Your body's cycles may be so varying just because it's still trying to regulate. I'd just temp, maybe watch your CM, so you know when you ovulate, that way you can get the BD in when it's best. Good luck! xo

 your not alone my cycles have been getting longer from 32 to now cd62

When did you take AC? Up to ovulation? It's amazing what it has done to your cycles

My cycles are anywhere from 27 days to 42 days, though they're usually on the longer end :( I don't ovulate until WAY later in the cycle, and before I was taking vitamin b my luteal phase was only 7-8 days on top of that. All messed up! I haven't been on birth control for a good 10 years, so im guessing its some sort of hormonal imbalance. The vitamin b helped my luteal phase, now I just need to O sooner- Im going to start Vitex, too. I was debating between Soy or Vitex...anyone know if one is better than the other for O-ing sooner? Good luck to you, let us know if you start supplementing and if it works for you! You're not alone!

Hey, I'm in the same boat too, 4th cycle or ttc with cycles between 41 - 78 days so far

I'm going to try soya isoflavones from next cycle, day 32 ATM so waiting....

Good luck with the soy! Make sure to let us know if it works for you. I've heard really good things about it.
