Me and my husband have been unofficially TTC for 1 year and 9 months now. When we first started we were actually trying, we gave up after about 4 months and just figured we'd let whatever happen happen. Obviously that's not doing it for us though. We are just now ttc officially again and we both started taking geritol about 3 weeks ago, I bought preseed, and for the first time an ovulation predictor kit. So today I got the positive on my opk, tomorrow is 14 days into my cycle so I am pretty regular which I thought I was anyway since I have 28-30 day cycles every single month.

My question is, I am due for a colonoscopy next week, should we even try this month or put it off another month? I have a GI problem they are trying to figure out, I may not be able to have gluten. Or ulcerative colitis, crohns... We don't know yet..
I'm not absorbing nutrients like in suppose to (possibly why I haven't been able to get pregnant) should we wait another month? Will that affect anything? I feel fine now and this problem has been ongoing for 2 years and I just starting seeing a specialist for it. I am eating way better now and taking geritol. I can add other supplements if I need, any suggestions? I've been eating tons of whole foods, spinach, fruits, veggies. I've had a very significant change in CM this month too. I think I can actually conceive now.

I will literally be like one week pregnant at the time of my colonoscopy if things worked. Lol. Thoughts?

I have an ongoing GI issue currently under investigation as well. Phone your GI and just be honest with her. Mine knows I am TTC and keeps that in mind when running tests/prescribing.
Good luck with both TTC and getting the GI issue sorted out!

I did mention it to him in passing and he didn't say a word about it. I guess I should have asked specifically if we could continue. I know people have had them in the second trimester and been fine but how delicate are the first few weeks is what I wonder..

Honestly, just keep TTC, and continue to let your health care professional know you are TTC.

I have microscopic colitis, and it was undiagnosed for years - only got a diagnosis and started treatment around the same time we started TTC. Some of the treatments will change (like, you might not want to be on steroids if you are TTC) but mostly it will stay the same. Don't not get treated, and don't stop doing the tests - your health will be the most important thing if you get pregnant!

I recommend you try talking to a dietician about the low FODMAP diet, which can help with a variety of inflammatory bowel problems, and eating well is good when TTC anyways.

Interestingly, when I got my BFP last week (which unfortunately was a chemical, but still!) my IBD symptoms went away, and I had 'normal' stools! I guess some women get constipated when they get pregnant - maybe I'll be a normal human being!! LOL

My GI kept joking with me not to worry too much about the chronic diarrhea because I'll just get constipated as soon as I get my BFP anyway (and she's already ruled out major serious issues). ;)
