Im just wondering if anyone had any trouble with their tummy after c-section.
I had my LO 10 weeks ago and my tummy is sore. Its not where they cut, its just my tummy. It is sore to the touch and I get sharp pains soemtimes shooting in it. I told the doc this when I had my 8week check and she felt it and said it was sore (youre telling me!) hurt like crazy her pressing it, but she said wait 2 months and if it is still sore then go back. There are also some hard bits near the surface of the skin.
Anyone had any problems?

My belly is still sore. It is uncomfortable to wear certain pants and I just started wearing jeans last week. My jeans fit as soon as I came home but they just cause too much pressure in the abdomen. It is not at the scar either but the area below belly button to the scar is just tender. I don't notice any hard bits. Does it feel like scar tissue forming where you might have had stretch marks? The shooting pain might just be nerves regenerating but I don't have those either. Is there another doc in the group you can follow up with if you still are concerned?

Im only about 3 and a half weeks pp but i have all of this too.

It isnt from stretchmarks as I only got a small number of those and they were to the side of my belly button.
I cant fit into any of my old clothes, Im a size bigger :( so Im in leggings and dresses, anything that works with leggings lol.

Mine was sore just above my scar. It started to feel better but now I fell over earlier bs it's painful again :( I'm 4 weeks pp.

I still feel exactly like this, went to doc last week, they said there was no infection and it was just it healing up! :( sore tho! :hugs: xx

Yes! My scar had hard lumps underneath the surface, I was so worried I got checked out by the docs but turns out it was scar tissue as even though it may look like its healed on the outside the stitches inside still need to heal which takes longer.

Im 6 months on and I still get the odd twinge there after walking or lifting, its still numb as well in places.

Its just so sore to the touch. Cant have anyone touch it! If I have hold of LO and someone takes him off me and brush my tummy it hurts. I just didnt think that was right but I guess it will take a lot time to heal inside so just see how I go with it.

My scar can still feel itchy and irritated some days and LO is 10 months!

I still get the occasional twinge or shooting pain in my belly. My doc told me its normal.

My scar got infected so I ended up on antibiotics.

After that was cleared my scar was still very painful to touch.
I had a hard, sharp internal stitch that was almost poking through the skin which was very sore and took almost 5 months to heal. I went back to the GP who refered me back to the consultant who said to return at 6 months if it still hadn't healed.

It took me about 6 months to comfortably get back into jeans without it leaving me sore.

My csection was almost 9 weeks ago and my scar is hurting like mad tonight, lots of stabbing pains and all feels tender. It's easy to forget that's it's scary surgery when you're so focused on a newborn

I remember having a sore stomach afterwards for quite a while. Especially trying to sit up from a lying position or when someone touched me. I haven't felt this in a long time. I think it was just my body healing. I hope your pains disappear quickly for you.

My skin around my c-section feels tender, my dd is 3.5 weeks now. Internally it really doesnt hurt anymore, I can sit up from laying position and not have pain etc. Its a weird feeling. It only feels tender when I rub my skin. My skin around my incision is numbish but it still feels sore to the touch. It does go away. I had the same with my 2nd dd who was also a c-section. For me all in all it took 4 months to have absolutely no pain anymore with my last c-section

Yes. Mine just feels weird. If I push above my scar on my belly it doesn't HURT HURT but it feels a little painful.

Another question, the day after sex does your belly ever feel weird around your scar? That's usually when I have pain and twinges.

OP - You had MAJOR surgery hun. It takes time, the tummy hurting is most probably the internal wound rather than anything to do with the external scar. And it might be sensitive for a while yet. Took about 6 months for my tummy not to be sensitive and at least 4 months before it had healed enough inside to not be sore. 8 months in and I dont have any issues with it.

But its a big operation -it will take a while to get over it for most of us

Mizze xx

I agree with Mizze, it is major surgery... I thought the general rule is 6 week recovery and then back to normal, it was obviously a man who said that! I still have days where my scar is itchy and sore, I've only just swapped back from the belly warmer knickers to pre pregnancy ones.

My scar still hurts sometimes, and I get uterine pain often.. The uterus heals oddly.. Not only is there that incision, but where the placenta was attached is like a big sore. You should look up C-section massage and maybe even belly binding, just to give you additional support while healing..
