My mum has just booked a holiday for my 21st birthday in a few weeks. She told me she was booking to go to spain. Shes just come from the travel agents and shes booked to go to tunisia. Ive just been reading reviews for the hotel and someone has written that right outside the hotel their is fighting, and the hotel is like a refugee camp!!!! At the top of the review page it say 'TRAVLE ALERT:STATE OF EMERGENCY' surely the travel agents (thomas cook) wouldnt still be letting people travel here if it was like that? Im so worried as ill be taking my young son. I dont want to sound ungrateful as my mums paid quite abit of money for it. Has anyone been lately? Im so worried :nope:

I think its okay now hun? It was bad in the early summer i think.

actually tourists are still being advised against travel to tunisia and its still in a state of emergency cos its right next to libya :(

Christ. I dont know what to do! Would the estate agent not have said its unsafe to go here, or just said go and take the money? x

Dunno but I'd ask your mum to go back and ask for a transfer. Not really very responsible of thomas cook not to even let your mum know :\

i agree with blah i wouldnt be travelling if i was you espically when they have been advised against travelling. trouble can flare up very quickly and its hard to get out of the country when it does x

there are no travel restrictions in this Travel Advice for other areas of Tunisia, including the main tourist resorts.
Just read this on the link, I just dont know what to think, or do. x

There are no alerts for travelling in the tourist areas. You will not be anywhere close to where refugees are crossing the border from Libya. Many years ago we went and travelled around the country a lot- I wouldn't suggest those types of trips would be great just now but you are not likely to do that with a baby either.

Thankyou :flower:
