Well, I was watching my dvd set collection of Roseanne and didn't realize they had an episode of Dan and Roseanne discussing their fears of TTC and all of the emotional impact behind it. They were concerned that something was wrong with them and described every emotion that we all go through which is the "what if it's me, what did i do wrong? what did i do to deserve this ect" They got all of that right, it had me wrapped aroudn their finger in tears because I felt I could relate so much to it...until they said "we've been trying for three whole months" I swear my mind put the show on pause even though it was playing... If TV shows are going to do episodes about TTC, they should really do their research. But I must say, if you want an episode to relate to I recommend watching Roseanne Season 6 Episode 05. They have it on youtube, a must watch!

Is that the one where she's lying on the bed with her legs up in the air? lol I always think of that episode (for some reason it's stuck in my mind since I saw it as a kid) when I have my legs up against the wall after BDing. :-P

haha yes it is. But for me it's the end of the episode when they have their discussion in the truck that gets me bawling my eyes.

I'll have to re-watch it. I pretty much just remember that one part.

Same here, it's when I rewatched it I didn't realize how close to home that episode would be to me one day. I guess we forgot about the rest of the episode because it wasn't relevant to us at the time but now that I've watched it now, it's the most important episode out of the whole series to me.

I've never watched Roseanne, but it reminds me of Monica and Chandler in Friends and them finding out they can't have children naturally and their decision to adopt. I think it's good that TV shows deal with ttc issues, although it can be a sad reminder too xxx

I've watched the Friends episodes recently as well (sorry, never watched Roseanne) and was surprised how present infertility really in on TV. I couldn't help but feel like it was waaaay over simplified to connect to though, especially the adoption process. I mean, it seemed like it went so quickly for them, and though they never really talk about it, clearly the financial aspect was left out altogether. If it were as easy as portrayed on tv, then I think much more of us you go straight to that, instead of years of ttc struggles.

In the rarity IF is mentioned on television, I'm all for it....however, I do wish they would portray it accurately. Not that fertile people would understand it any better, but to teach people infertility does exist and it is a serious condition.

It's in How I Met Your Mother as well... Lily and Marshall experience it in season 6. Hit close to home or me, had a few tears over it :)

And in that same episode as I describe, Roseanne wakes up with her sister Jackie with a pregnancy test saying this one feels lucky, come to find out Roseanne woke up with AF and then Jackie announces her BFP. So Roseanne is stuck comforting someone who got knocked up after a one night stand while she's going through another failed cycle.

I can't seem to find that episode of Roseanne on Youtube - it comes up with something it wants me to download in order to view a range of progs in full, but i was able to watch another ep without it. Any ideas??

that's odd...the username of the youtube channel is lauradajnko2, try searching that on youtube. Should be the first option on top as a channel then you'll find it in the videos that user uploaded. Hope that helps!

Found it! Thanks.
Right, I'm going to do some housework then I can watch Roseanne as a treat! (already watched another episode whilst looking for this one earlier; really is time to do something!)

Well, I'm now steadily working my way through the WHOLE of Roseanne! Just watched season 1, episode 15 - worth a look if ltttc; had me welling up any way! (It's the bit towards the end if you're needing a reason to stay with it.)

I'm from the UK and love Roseanne! Sadly I don't think I have ever watched that episode OR if I did it has completely passed me by.

Definitely going to dig that one out :)

I like it when we are portrayed on TV but it irkes the hell out of me when it is negative; too many drama's seem to feature baby snatching infertiles that have been driven to kidnapping because of their own short comings. I understand that this may happen, but it is always given from the point of view of the family and never what pushed this person over the edge. I don't condone baby snatching (obviously) but would be nice to have more time spent on what effects infertility have on people and how it can change mental states etc, rather then classing us as monsters that are a danger to families :(

Feisty Fidget, SOOO agreed! can't believe how many episodes criminal minds did on the crazy infertiles who snatch kids grrrr. We're not crazy!

Mad about you had some awesome tic episodes also
