I was just looking to see if anyone had a similar experience? At my 6 week ultrasound I was diagnosed with a large Sub Chorionic Hemorrhage, above the baby far and from the placenta. It has consistently measured around 5.7x2x3cm. At 8 weeks the baby looked great and no change to the bleed.

So today at 11 weeks, the original hemorrhage was still there unchanged, but a second one showed up apparently closer to the placenta, but near the cervix measuring 4x3x1 cm!!! What is going on? Why are these happening???

I've had no bleeding out, which has really surprised the doctors. There's tons of scary stories of women losing their baby's in the second trimester and later from this. I'm sort of freaked out, and really bummed. Any words of hope or experience? Anyone who didn't have bleeding?

No help here, but I also was diagnosed with a subchorionic hematoma last week (baby measured 12 weeks) I had a major bleed and actually felt my water (or some kind of water sack) break at 9-10 weeks and thought I lost the baby. I'm not sure where the SCH is located but as the days go by I turn into more of a nervous wreck wondering if the baby is okay. No more bleeds since 9 weeks, but LOTS of brown spotting, ugh. This is my third pregnancy, the other two were normal compared to this. Hope your SCHs just resolve themselves. I've done lots of reading where they seem to go away around 20 weeks for some woman. Hoping for good news for you!

I had some hemorrhaging in my first tri-mester due to a fall it was fairly large surrounding my baby...but it went away after some bedrest and I had a small amount of pink bleeding. youll be fine just listen and follow everything the doc tells u too...good luck

I have one now-started bleeding at 10 weeks-thought it was the end. Had 4 scans since (some private) and it seems small and away from baby and placenta so they arent worried at all (plus on last scan it had shrunk a little) and discharged me to midwife. I am now nearly 13 weeks and still spotting brown but all looks good The last consultant I saw said that if Ihadnt actually been bleeding, he wouldn't have even mentioned it as its very common-it can be something to do with the placenta developing as initially is covers all the sac, or can just be a small tear but we were told once you see a heartbeat, even with bleeding, the rate of losing the baby is only 3% so try not to worry. I know its scary but once you know baby is happy in his sac, its very reassuring. We asked about tellimg people know as it is getting tricky and Dr said no reason not to and we had to consider it a 'normal pregnancy' now xx

Thanks for all the replies. Its very reassuring. Still no bleeding! My next scan is Wednesday and right after i get to speak to a specialist. Im expecting good news :)

Good luck at your appt! I have mine on Thursday! Wishing good news for us both!

My appointment was a mix of good and bad.The good news is that my really large SCH is half the size! The second SCH was actually a misdiagnosis, and it really was a placental "lake" that is normal in a forming placenta. The problem is that the placenta has formed over my cervix and I have complete placenta previa. I'm still mostly happy with this news...I can deal with a C-section and possible early delivery. In the end I'll get my sweet baby in my arms and that's what counts!

That's great! I'm glad you're happy with the news.

My appt went well too, although I did not get a scan done this time. I was a little disappointed with that seeing as I wanted to know if the SCH had shrunk at all or not. But, baby seems to be doing well and I started feeling kicks as soon as I left the doctor's office, which is a good sign. Also, spotting (icky brown stuff, ew!) has almost completely stopped! :happydance: Have a scan planned for the 2nd to check on the SCH, so I'm at ease until then.

So glad all seems to be doing well for you and your LO. :hugs:
