Every once in a while I feel a little pain in my lower right side... like by my ovary??

What is this pain?? Is it normal?? It only lasts for like 2 minutes the most.. and then its gone... Like nothing ever happened...And it doesnt hurt really bad... its just annoying I guess you can say.

Any Ideas??

Ok Im new on this... What is the round ligament?

The round ligaments surround your uterus in your pelvis. As your uterus grows during pregnancy, the ligaments stretch and thicken to accommodate and support it. These changes can occasionally cause pain on one or both sides of your abdomen.

You may feel round ligament pain as a short jabbing sensation if you suddenly change position, such as when you're getting out of bed or out of a chair or when you cough, roll over in bed, or get out of the bathtub. You may feel it as a dull ache after a particularly active day — when you've been walking a lot or doing some other physical activity.

You may feel the pain starting from deep inside your groin, moving upward and outward on either side to the top of your hips. The pain is internal, but if you were to trace it on your skin, it would follow the bikini line on a very high-cut bathing suit.

I had a cyst on my ovary it hurt for awhile but has now started to go away because my placenta is taking over. Normally it would have been picked up on your ultrasound so it's probably just you body changing. Heres something I found on the americanpregnancy.org site. This should help ease your mind.

What if I notice some cramping and I am pregnant?

Pregnant women can have some light cramping early in pregnancy. The cramping is often like light menstrual cramps through the lower abdomen or on one side or the other. The cramping is often a result of all the changes that are occurring in the uterus. The uterus is experiencing change as the implanted egg begins to grow and develop.

Some light cramping may also be from the small cyst that can develop on the ovary at ovulation called the corpus luteum cyst. A small cyst forms in the spot on the ovary where the egg pops out before making its journey to the uterus. This cyst then produces progesterone until the placenta has formed enough to begin producing its own progesterone. This small cyst can cause some discomfort for women in early pregnancy.

I've been having the same pains, today they are mostly in the center and a little bit to the left.

Thanks for posting. Good to know what they are!

I got loads of pains like that in early pregnancy, just sounds normal and you will most likely have a lot more of that throughout your pregnancy. My midwife referred to it as "stretching" (what samantha said :headspin: )

.

i agree--- i had terrible cramping for like a day but then it went away and i never got it more than a few seconds at a time--- as long as there's no bleeding or spotting u should be fine--- but u can always get it checked out if it persists longer than an hour or two--- in fact i actually had a really bad one last night and my OB said that its just the uterus strentching out

I get some pain on my lower left side too, figured it was stretching. Good to know it probably is. My lower back hurts most of the time too..figuring that's stretching as well...

This is good to know :) I had some cramping on Friday and Saturday and it really scared me but at least now I know it's normal!

could be the corpus lutheum... a sort of cyst that forms during ovulation and produces hormones for the first few months of the pregnancy, then the placenta takes over and the cyst disappears. you usually have a cyst at every cycle and they disappear when your periods come.
