Posted this on ttc no 1 but thought I really should be posting on LTTTC - I hope it's ok to post this again.
Hi all,
NICE have updated their guidelines today on dealing with fertility problems - https://www.nice.org.uk/newsroom/news/GreaterTreatmentOptionsWomenFertilityProblems.jsp and https://publications.nice.org.uk/fertility-cg156
Quick overview:
- IVF eligibility is now 2 years not 3
- Potentially IVF available for those aged 40-42
- IUI is not recommended before 2 years for those with unexplained, mild endo, or mild male factor infertility (my fertility specialist - I have unexplained - said IUI is not recommended at all for me and it would be straight to IVF)
- Ovarian Stimulation Agents (commonly Clomid) should not be offered to those with unexplained infertility
