Advice appreciated!
Back in 2009 DH was fired from his job, he was under a lot of pressure, very atressed etc. He is a good guy ,and very hard worker but one day after working 7 days straight with no lunch breaks, short staffed etc, he closed the shop he ran 30 mins early. Unfortunately this was deemed to be gross misconduct and was fired.
Since the he has worked for two other companies, and just been offered a job he really wants. The guy interviewing him didn't seem to be interested as to why other jobs had ended so DH didn't bring it up. But now the HR dept of his new company want details of previous employers and reasons for leaving. We feel the right thibg to so is be honest, but we are terrified they will retract the job offer.
Is there anyone out there with HR experience who can tell me if we are right to worry, or will his honesy plus the fact he has had other succesful jobs since 2009 help?
My friend advised to say on the form that he was dismissed, then call the HR dept before they receive the form in the post to explain. Is that good advice?
Will be calling on Monday so any help before then appreciated xx
