There's been a few threads lately where the advice (and very rightly) has been to get ino touch with a Lactation Consultant, or another breastfeeding specialist, as the poster often has issues that may be best resolved by having a feed observed and 'hands on' (not literally!) support.

I know there's a lot of us from different countries of the world, but just thought this website below may be useful to the UK based members who are wondering where to find someone to help! It's the website of The Lactation Consultants of Greta Britain, and the most up to date and comprehensive list, for UK consultants. Pleae note some of these LC's work FOC and some work privately and charge, but at least the contact details are here for you.

https://www.lcgb.org/locallc.htm

And don't forget we have a new(ish) national breastfeeding helpline in the UK, National Breastfeeding Helpline operated by trained (and bf experienced) volunteers from the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers and The Breastfeeding Network 0844 20 909 20.

If anyone else wants to add support contact details in other countries, I'd be happy to change the title, so this can become more international!

Hope it's useful!

Just found this for you.....may be of interest.

ISLE OF WIGHT:
Breastfeeding drop-in support group meets on Mondays between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. between Lake and Shanklin, run by local midwife. For more details, contact Nicola on 01983 867048

Another number for the breastfeeding network - I assume it's the same as the other one but as the people on the other end of the phone are all volunteers you don't always get an answer.

0844 412 4664

If you call from your home phone you get put through to the home of someone local, and they're great - think they get 3 years training, and they are all people who have breastfed themselves
