UK mat leave and holidays.

Hi everyone,

I started my leave mid July 2015 and took my 5.5weeks holiday before starting my maternity leave on 24th august. I am taking talking the full year off so won't return (if I do) until august this year. I don't want to return due to issues in the work so its looking more that I won't. What I don't know is, am I entitlement d to any holidays between April and august? I don't want to take too many then end up in trouble when I don't go back. I'm getting SMP so won't owe my employer anything in regards to not returning. Any help would be great xx

While on mat leave you accrue holiday as though you were working, so yes, you'll be entitled to any holiday accrued in that time.

I gave in my notice before my maternity leave ended and I was paid for the holiday I had accrued during maternity leave
