This is is something we have been fighting for since ds was around 8mo. He gets tonsilitus pretty much monthly to every other month since he was 8mo.
Finally as he turned 3 a doctor said he is now old enough and with the constant large size of his tonsils even when not infected, the fact he gets it so often and still doesn't sleep through the night due to snoring and jumping himself awake (and his dad had them removed) he is a good candidate.
The dr wrote to a panel in charge of funding (as the nhs doesnt pay for tonsilectomys anymore) and ds got his funding
So dr then wrote to ENT and he has his very first appointment with them tomorrow!!
I am sooooo excited which apprently people don't understand. But when you know this could end your childs sleepless nights and constant pain it is exciting!
So this is the point we are at... From any mums that have managed to get this done for their child I just want to know what to expect tomorrow really.
I mean fundings been granted etc. So is this just so they can look him over, get his history and book him in for his surgery? Or will there be a string of long drawn out appointments before anything is done? Im really hoping it can happen before his sister arrives or means dh will have to take off work also (and hes our only income)
I really just want to know what to expect. I mean hes got this far surely its just a case of getting it done now?????
