Hi my lb really struggles to bring up his wind. He will turn one month on Saturday and have been advised to start using gripe water. As gripe water is given after a feed can I carry on giving him infacol before a feed? Or does it have to be one or the other?

I asked my health visitor about gripe water today and whether I should switch from infacol to that when she turns a month. She told me that gripe water should really be an occasional thing rather than be used regularly.. She said infacol is the best thing.

I've been using Colief but she told me that should only really be a last resort so I am using infacol instead now.

I have used both of those singularly and also together in my fight against my lo's wind! To be honest, in the end I decided to stop everything to see how he would be and be was actually better without any of them.

Think it's a journey to find what works for your lo but eventually they do grow out of it as their digestive system improves.

Long winded response but ultimately I don't think there's an issue with using both together as they have different active ingredients. I used to add the gripe water to his bottle as he didn't like the taste alone.

There's no real issue with giving both. When Tegan was tiny we used both, infacol to prevent a build up of wind during feeding and gripe water after a feed to bring her wind up without fuss because she had very severe reflux and any back patting led to copious amounts of vomit
