Hello,

I am very lucky to have private health care via my DH work but this nor does any other UK private health care scheme seem to cover infertility treatment.

I was just wondering if anyone else has UK private healthcare and if they have managed to get private fertility tests done as part of their package and if you were not covered how you got round this if you still used your private health care scheme? X

My scheme doesnt cover infertility testing - BUT if your dr is nice - you can speak to them about playing the system a little bit - I wanted to have a lap to check why I was having early spotting and my dr said that we could say it was a womens problem to do with my periods and then I could get the op privately done. AS it was the NHS lap came through quicker so I didnt bother - but there are some ways around it.
They would never cover IVF etc - but any help with getting tests faster is a bonus.
Good luck sweetie.

Thanks ladies - that's good to know, we have our healthcare with AXA PPP - I was hoping there maybe a way round it for some tests - the FS I'm seeing tomorrow is also a private Dr at the local private hospital so hopefully he will be willing to discuss our options for possible private treatment via our health care scheme tomorrow xx

Mine is AXA PPP too hun.
Crossing fingers for you.

I have AXA PPP Healthcare too and mine is a Company Policy. It's probably the same as yours. Covers private maternity and stuff but unfortunately not the infertility treatment. Have a chat with your consultant and see what he can do. We managed to get our NHS review appointment done privately which meant we are six months further up the NHS waiting list than we would have been. £120 well spent!!!

xx

Ooh that's really interesting - I am defo going to mention I've got this cover tomorrow. I'm also going to make contact with AXA PPP to find out exactly what they can cover relating to TTC/pregnancy etc xx
