Is it true that its bad for the baby, to have lots of ultrasound scans done,

I've had one at weeks 8,12 and 14, have ones scheduled for weeks 16, 20, and 24 due to problems with the baby.

A doctor told me its bad for the baby to have lots of scans and now i'm worrying. xx

I think the benefits of you having scans outweigh the negatives. If it didn't, the person in charge of your care wouldn't let you have them. I personally doubt it bothers the baby at all, but if you're concerned maybe you should make an appointment to talk it over with someone? Twins are scanned a lot though and most of them are born without any problems and the problems they have aren't caused by 'over-scanning'. I think if it was me, I'd go ahead with the scans just so I knew my baby was okay in there, and if there was anything of concern, we'd find out sooner rather than later. Whatever you decide though, it has to be the right decision for you *lots of hugs*

Thank you, I would definately never not have the scans because of being told this, just wondered if it was true. Its vital that I have every scan possible so that I know how baby is progressing and if he still has a bladder blockage. You are right, I know they wouldn't do it if they thought it would harm the baby, Thanks xx

I've had a few scans myself honey and I got told that if there was any risk they wouldn't scan you as much

I've already had 2 and im only 7 and a half weeks.. I will be up to 4 before i hit 12 weeks and then mine will slow down after that..

I thought I had 5, but my OH informs me I had more than that (only pics for 5 ) they are not long to do and as a result they will be perfectly fine for baby - Doctors will be weighing up pros and cons and obviously note how many scans you would have had previously etc....Don't worry hun, everything will be fine! :hugs:x
