I totally thought my only worry at my 20 week ultrasound would be finding out the gender, but unfortunately that is not the case with this pregnancy for us. I am going for our level 2 ultrasound today, and will probably have the amniocentisis done at this appointment since I was referred to a maternal fetal specialist. Our quad screen results came back 1/10 high risk for Trisomy-18, and since my panorama blood test results came back inconclusive, we needed to be referred to a specialist. My husband is dead set on having an amnio done, mainly so I can have peace of mind and stop worrying anxiously about our screen results.

I will love this baby no matter what, but am a little nervous about what is to come this afternoon! Anyone have a level 2 ultrasound and amnio done due to being high risk for a chromosomal abnormality? I would love to hear your stories and I will update everyone after our appointment today :flower: Good vibes and prayers (if you are the praying kind) are welcome!

Good luck with the scan and amnio if you end up having it, hope it all goes smoothly

I've never experienced what you're going through but I didn't want to read and run. Good luck, love! Prayers and good vibes coming your way.

I had dual positive aneuploidies detected for t18 and t13 from the verifi test. I got my verifi results at 14 weeks and scheduled an amnio at 15 weeks. MFM did my amnio, everyone was very encouraging bc my ultrasounds looked great at 12 weeks and also pre-amniocentesis.

Amnio went smoothly. FISH results came back fine and full amnio results agreed.

Hope everything goes well for you!

Thank you all again for your support and well wishes, it seriously kept me so positive! I am very very very happy to report that baby looks perfectly healthy and is not at any increased risk for chromosomal abnormalities. The specialist sent me away without even recommending an amnio, and this is why-

The specialist said that my dr had "miscalculated" my risk!!! She entered the wrong due date and it completely put my risk through the roof! After the specialist re-calculated my risks with the correct due date, my risk went from 1:10 to 1:32,000. Then we did the level 2 ultrasound which confirmed baby is structurally normal and right on target for growth. It was probably the best news I've ever gotten in my life, and all I could think about was how happy I was to have I healthy baby I didn't even hear the tech tell me we were team blue :blue:

This just goes to show me that Drs make mistakes and to take everything they say with a grain of salt. And to certainly trust my instincts!

I've included a pic of our little man, I was already over the moon in love with him but seeing him on screen sealed the deal <3

Definitely great news!! So glad the MFM was able to sort it out and relieve all of your worries! Congrats on the handsome little man.

Thank you for all the well wishes :hugs: I hope if someone is looking around through the threads and going through the same thing, my experience can give them hope and encourage them to STAY POSITIVE! :flower:
