:winkwink: Good morning! I had a m/c last Nov, and am FINALLY pregnant again. I am only 4 weeks, and haven't been to the Dr. yet. Since I have had one m/c do they do anything different for this pregnancy? Do you get an ultrasound earlier? I had a blighted ovum btw, and didn't find out until about 8 weeks. Do you get the same treatment as the first time you were pregnant or do they do things a little different? I'm sure it varies by Dr, but any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! :flower:

Hi

My doctor advises when I fall pregnant again they would book me in for an earlier scan at 8 weeks, but other than that nothing !

have a happy and healthy 9 months

xxxxx

Well, normally, my doctor always does one at 9weeks. I had one at 6 though, b/c of bleeding.

After my 5 week miscarriage I didn't get offered any extra scans

After I lost Isabella they scanned me every two weeks in this pregnancy.

I guess it varies dr to dr and loss to loss.

Why don't you ring the epu, explain your worries and ask them?

I know that lots of people aren't given a scan after one mc, but like you said, it really depends on your doctor and where you live. They don't typically do anything different after one mc here, but my doctor went out of his way to reassure me. He found the heartbeat at 9 weeks (doesn't usually see moms until 12 weeks), then suggested that I have a scan booked for a few days later anyway because he thought it would be good for me to see my baby wiggling around (my first was a mmc diagnosed at an ultrasound). I know that not everyone has this opportunity, but it made a huge difference for me. If you can get one, definitely take advantage, but try not to worry if it's not offered to you. Chances are very good that you'll be holding a baby in 9 months. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Congrats on BFP !

For my area (London) unless you have 3 or more MC they wont do anything for you.
Unless you have pain / bleeding and need to be checked out.

Suppose they sometimes have to be strict as there is only limited staff and resources however it would be nice to get checked out.

Maybe you could ask - no harm ! and if they wont do want you want e.g. early scan maybe there might be an option to go private and pay for a scan.

Good luck honey with your Dr x

I had my mc in November and was sure they would treat the next pregnancy differently but they haven't. Everything is scheduled as if it's a routine pregnancy, no ultrasound for me for at least another 5 weeks ugh. On one hand it's nice because it does help things to feel normal this time around. On the other hand I would love to have that confirmation that everything is going well earlier.

unless its recurrent loss than not usually no - with my first 2 losses i didnt get treated any different.. but after 4 losses it all changed and now after losing charlie its changed again. x
