Umbilical Cord Flow Problem

At our last scan this past Monday, our doctor told us that everything looked great aside from one thing that I had never heard about before: the shape of the umbilical cord is not normal, thus causing a slightly different flow of blood to our little baby (and also causing my body to pump harder to ensure LO gets what she needs).

He said he sees it often at my stage of pregnancy and it can become normal at a later date. He also said it isn't necessarily something to worry about at the moment and we've been booked in for another scan near the end of January, just to check, and if the flow is still a bit off, I'll have to start taking low dosages of Aspirin.

Is there a term for this? What are the risks for our baby? Has anyone else experienced this?
