Umbilical Cord in between legs...

Went for private scan today and babies umbilical cord was in between its legs!! So we were unable to tell gender. We get to go back for free in a week and try again but Im wondering if anyone else has had this happen and if the cord ever moved? Or at least in a weeks time This was never the case with my two other pregnancies and the tech said cords move all the time. Guess I just need reassurance. Afraid to drive up there..1.5 hours..again for nothing.

My doctors anatomy scan isnt in January and it depends on the tech if they will tell you gender or not

Actually the baby uses the cord as a toy... so yes it moves We get scanned every 2 weeks and its in a different spot each time. Last time one of the twins had a cord in her hand and was jerking it all around.

Thanks. I never had this issue with prior two pregnancies were I got a scan every appointment the cord always seemed in the same spot!

Miss- I think I jinks myself because I kept thinking "what if the cord is in way!" And it was! We go back Thursday so I hope we can find out then

I was unable to find out if my baby was a little boy or little girl as baby had crossed its little legs the whole time during my 20 week scan

But I have booked a 4D scan in 11 days time so hopefully I can find out! Will be really disappointed if baby has the umbilical cord hiding baby bits

Oh no! I have my 20 week scan on weds and I'm really hoping we can dfind out the gender! It feels like we've been waiting forever to find out, I couldn't bear to wait any longer! I'm sure the cord will have moved by your next scan though hun.

Man I was lucky! The cord was between the legs but they could still tell. Good luck next week!

Jslyn- what are you having? I was surprised they couldn't see ANYTHING! At the end she said she didn't see any boy bits but doesn't want to tell us girl just in case the cord was hiding it. I hope we get a different tech next time. Something just felt off about the one we had.

This was a private scan so we paid for it so if all fails I still have my anatomy scan January 6th so far away, suspense is killing me!!

We had this at our 20 week scan but luckily she did see the 3 lines and we got no boys bits so she was fairly confident its a girl. We are having a 4d scan in January so should hopefully find out then for definite. As others have said the cord moves lots so fingers crossed you should be fine next time xx

She thinks girl. We also saw no boy parts and caught a glimpse of the 3 lines. She told me not to totally get my hopes up but at this point she is saying girl until it can be confirmed at 20 weeks. Hoping baby stays a girl

That's so frustrating! I think I would make the drive if I were you because I'm not very good at being patient! So funny my anatomy scan is jan 6th too!

We are going Thursday! It's also where I'll be giving birth, the town that is, so I just scheduled my monthly visit with the midwife same day so if baby doesn't show us the goods it's not a total loss driving up there.

I hope your girl stays a girl! And I'm hoping my ornery shy unknown baby is a girl everyone says it is as boys are always showing their goods

Sounds like a great plan! And it's so true! I found out with my son at 28 weeks and it was so obvious I said to my mom.. It's a boy.. Before the tech even said anything.

With my oldest they told me boy at 12.5 weeks and every ultrasound after that his goods were on display for the world to see! With my second son I found out at 15.5 and again the minute they scanned down there all I saw was the sac and knew This time they project it on a large screen for your guests to see but it was a bit far for me to see but I just kept looking for that sac! Even with the cord there I kept thinking theyd at least see balls if there was some

Lol to flashy boys! I agree through. The absence of boy parts is quite noticeable. We can count down to our 20 week scan together!
