Hi. I have a unicornuate too. A unicornuate is half of a uterus. When we r being formed as babies our uterus is two seperate parts then it fuses around twenty weeks. For whatever reason in you and i, one half of our uterus didnt form properly. In my case the other half of my uterus did start to form, leavingwhat they call a rudimentary horn, which can either be communicating or noncommunicating. Mine is noncommunicating which means that it is not connected to the larger side of my uterus. Communicating means it is open to the other half of your uterrus therfore u could get pregnant in that side which would be bad and they would probably surgically remove that side of your uterus which is fine bc u dont need it anyway, but they left my other aide in bc it is noncommunicating theefore not hurting anything even though it is still useless. Anyway, you also probably only have one tube And even if u have two theres not much point in that second one. What to expect...I'll give u a summary of my story. I found out through hsg that I had a unicornuate after 16 months ttc. Had mri to make sure I had two kidneys which I did. In my case I also had a problem with my one tube and it had to be removed unrelated to unicornuate, so I went straight to Ivf. Had one fresh cycle and two fets all negative. Having next Ivf in march. My lining has been a problem, but that may not be related to unicornuate. If u have Ivf ur transfers will be more difficult bc of ur uterus placement. Lots of ultrasounds once u are pregnant. Good possibility of a cerclage bc of cervix competence issues. Probable bed rest and preterm labor. Let me know if u want more info. (sorry for my typing style here, I'm on my phone)
