I'm looking for some honest opinions on a name I have loved since I was a teenager (15 - 20 yrs ago!). :dohh:

The name is: Kyloh

I "made it up" technically and I have never met a person with this name - but I just did a quick google search and found that it is a known surname and also a character name from a video game (is that a known reference to some ppl??).

I'm wondering what your honest thoughts/opinions are on this name? I'm not super brave when it comes to baby names... but this name feels so well-known and comfortable to me since it has been "on my list" for like 20 years! haha But i'm not sure how it will be received by others.

I would probably pair it with one of the "more typical" boy names that I like:

Kyloh Austin
Kyloh Alexander
Kyloh Joseph
Kyloh Preston
Kyloh Nicholas

My school friend has a son called Kylow. Its ok and cute but does sound made up. X

It does sound made up to me, but that's not the end of the world! I'm pronouncing it like Shilo but with a K, is that right? If so I think it is easy to guess the pronunciation which is always good!

I think it would be better the other way

Austin Kyloh (flows nicely imo)

or

Kyler is a similar name, still unique but more recognizable

I'm not keen on K names, or ones that use a Y where my brain is expecting an I. But it's not a bad name at all. Is it like Kylie? The Ky part?

Thanks ladies! Yes, it's like Shiloh (and the start of Kylie) but with a K.

So it's like "kai-low" (ky-low)

I say Shilow as Shee-low, oops! Guess I have been saying it wrong.

It sounds like it's meaningful to you so I would use it! It's nice! :) It doesn't matter that it's made up, I think that makes it more special.

Also, DH and I play a ton of video games and have never heard the name.
