Unusual OLD names?

My name is Twyla, I'm told it's old English... lol had to throw it in there!

Ophelia was my great nan's name, I would like to use it but our surname starts with O and it sounds a bit silly!

i like florence too :) flossy for short
or georgina

My pa-pa calls me flossy (:

but uhhh...
i adore Eleanor!

Im looking for a first name that would go with the middle name shirlee. Im having a difficult time =(

I know this is an old thread, but my husband and I have decided on a name for our little girl. Her two middle names are our respective gran's first names, and her first name is also the name of someone that was close to my husband growing up. She died but her 92 year old husband is still alive and we are both very close to him.

She is going to be called (this may change by the time I give birth!):

Mabel Elizabeth Gwendolyn Surname(begins with S).

I am so sick of people's opinions about this name. I've had 'you can't call her that' from my mum and laughing from my so called best friend and from my brother I've had 'you know this girl has to go to school at some point and I guarantee she will be bullied'. The only people I can see will bully her are my frickin family and it's so annoying! Sorry, got side-tracked there!

Claire and Josephine are good too.

 Mabel sounds fine to me

I like Iris for a girl and Earl for a boy, they sound like older names

I love some of the names already mentioned, like: Esme & Estella (from the book: Great Expectations!)
