Update after my lap & hyst

Last month I had a lot of questions for those of you that had a lap done. Well I had my laparoscopy & hysteroscopy on Sept 9th last week. The surgery went well. It took a while to recover, but I am back at work today. Anyway, my RE found & removed some endometriosis & a cyst on my right ovary. I am not sure what stage of endo I had. My post op appt isn't until Sept 30th. I can't wait for the appt so I can find out all the details. The RE told my DH after surgery that he has seen milder cases in women that have posed a problem getting pregnant, but he has also seen more severe cases. So I am assuming right now that I had Stage II endo. I feel so relieved now that I have some answers. I have high hopes now of getting a BFP soon . I will get AF before my post-op appt so I guess this next cycle we will just try naturally.

No I did not know I had a cyst or the endo. I had some pain during BD but didn't think it was from that. Other than that, not really any symptoms at all. I got the lap because I all tests came back normal and was Unexplained IF. Now I know I had endo and he removed it.

I can't believe you have to wait till the 30th for a full report, that is torture!!!

Lets hope with the endo removed and that 3-4 month window of higher fertile period after the lap sees you get a natural BFP!

I'm glad it went well sweetie - I have the same op on the 25th of this month and am soooo excited - I just need answers!!!

My cousin was TTC for three years, had a lap and they found she had some mild endo (her only symptoms was an irregular AF), they removed it and she fell preggers the very next month - and fell the first month they tried for their second child as well!!!

I really hope the next cycle brings you a BFP.

BTW - how bad was the pain?? I have the op on a thursday and have to be in work on the monday cos I'm in the middle of my busy period - I should be OK after three days shouldnt I??

Thanks! I am so glad I finally have some answers. I have a much more positive attitude about getting a BFP.

Also, thanks for sharing the story about your cousin. I love hearing success stories!! I am so happy for her! It gives me hope!!

As far as the pain, the 1st three days I did absolutely nothing but lie on the couch. The only time I got up was to go to the bathroom. It hurt too bad to move & walk around. I was very sore. I can't really say if you will be ok to go back to work after 3 days or not. I had my surgery on a Tues and was off work Tues-Fri so I didn't go back to work until Mon. I think it is different for everyone though. It will depend on what they find, how in-depth the surgery is, & how many incisions you have. I had 3 incisions: 1 in belly button & 2 on lower abdomen.

just want to say good luck for your appt on 30th and hopefully you'll be like Beckic's cousin! I am scheduled for my laparoscopy in 2 months, very scared, but very hopefull and now bit more relieved after your post.
