Hi Ladies, been having trouble with pc so not been able to get on here and dont know if you'll get this!

Hope you are all ok and things are going well.

Well i'm now 14+4 weeks and went for antenatal yesterday. I've been having cervical lengthing scans to make sure cervix is ok cos i may be prone to prem labour. They found that my cervix is beginning to slowly open and i therefore have to go into hospital on monday for an operation to put a stitch in there.

I am so nervous as this can cause miscarriage and after having 9 already, i really dont think i can go through another one. My head has been thumping since they told me this yesterday. Has anyone got any experience of having a stitch that can advise me? I will be having a genereal anaesthetic too so at least i wont have to be awake through it all. I am supposed to be coming home on Tuesday as they say i need to stay in overnight to check for any bleeding and then i have a scan next morning to check all is ok before they let me home.

Just as things seemed to be going ok with this one, they find something else.

Please please keep your fingers crossed for me that all goes well and i will be back as soon as possible to let you all know.

My SIL had her first baby at 26 weeks because of an incompetent cervix, so when she got pregnant the second time they stitched her closed and then just scheduled the delivery for 2 weeks early. She was also on bed rest for the entire pregnancy. Other than that, everything was fine.

I hope everything goes well on Monday, will be thinking of you. :hugs:

my mum had her first at 20ish weeks because of an incompetent cervix. that was about 35 years ago now. With all three of us she had one or two stitches put in. And we're all fine. She really went over her due date quite a lot with me (almost three weeks!) and had my brother and sister on time or slightly late before me.

*sends lots of good wishes and the best of luck*

Good luck, I will be thinking of you. I hope everything goes well for you mate.
I have no direct experience of this, but I have everything crossed for you.
