UPDATE: Slow and low rising hcg after bleeding

Hello all Im new here! Found out I was pregnant with a verrrry light positive frer on 11-22, on the 26th had a beta done and it came back 8.5, the following day I had heavy clotty bleeding for 2 days, and told I had a chemical pregnancy and to come back the followning monday (12-3) to make sure my levels went to 0. The went to 38 and 2 days later 60. My dr said she is confused and to start prenatals and test again in yesterday and they came back at 273 so she said I needed a dnc and the cancer shot (forget the name) so I went to another dr to get a scan done, which they saw nothing. So from LMP i would be 7 weeks yesterday and had the progesterone 21 day test on the 12th so I know im not off on my dates, is there anyone who has gone through this before and what did you do? Im just not ready for a dnc yet and I just need someone who has had this before tell me honestly their outcome, im sad and stressed and pulling at straws here

I had a bleed (like a period) my last pregnancy then very faint bfp. My blood work also showed low rising hcg and it turned out my baby was ectopic. However I've read a lot of stories on this and some women just start off a bit slower on the hcg front.. Maybe your bleed was just implantation and you're not as far along as u think?? It's possible you ovulated later than normal. Anyways guess way I'm saying is it can swing either way so don't lose hope xxx. P.s. I knew in my heart mg last pregnancy that something was wrong.. Just knew. Whereas this one I knew from the start it was ok.

My doctor thinks it is ectopic too, and wants me to have the shot today..did you get the shot or did you have surgery?

Oh i see you did have the shot.. I am so sorry you had to go thru that, I am struggling to make the decision

I dont really have much advice but had an ectopic back in june. I was scanned at 6 weeks 2 days and seen a mass in my tube. my hcg was 145 at this point and was rising slowly, then at 7 weeks i had another scan and it was confirmed definitely an ectopic i was taken in for emergency surgery that day.

I wouldnt really know what to do in your shoes as its odd they cant see anything anywhere. Hope things work out for the best and you will get your sticky bfp!

It's up to you really. The reason I went for metho was cause my numbers where low and it really helps preserve your tube. The only downside is you have to wait 3 months before trying again so the metho has time to leave your system and you build up your folic acid reserves. Only you can make the descison. really sorry to hear u are going through this, my heart goes out to you its not an easy thing to go through xxx

Thanks ladies, I am at 8 weeks today and just had another ultrasound with an hcg of 662 and they saw nothing, so I think I will just wait it out, I dont want the shot and other than waiting I have no other option left..

Just an update on what happened- I decided to wait it out and on 12-21-12 I started bleeding and on 1-2-13 my levels returned to 0. No shot or D and C..
