hi ladys
well filled 4 pads so far today and 2 large clots (sorry), the contractions are still coming strong
went doctors this morn and he scared the crap out of me by saying, its not normal to bleed that much and i should be in hospital, i bleed more than that when i have af, i only went for pain killers as the co-codomol wasnt touching it, and after his half hour of waffeling he still diddnt give me anything

is it normal to bleed so heavy with a 9 week miscarrage, and how long does it last
love
donna:hug:

Don't know sorry hun but wanted to give you a  Think everyones different and after scouring the internet for about 2 weeks now I think that alot of women have heavy bleeds. If it gets too bad though go straight to A & E thats what my local EPU told me. x

Hi chick, I would say what you are experiencing is normal, I was shocked at the amount of blood I lost, even before the medical intervention I had a massive gush of blood and then ran to the loo and the loo seemed to be full of it! once I had had the stuff to start my contractions they gave me cardboard bed pans to put over the toilet and catch what came out, I had to ring my buzzer for them to collect and check them and I used eight of them, each one had loads of blood and clots in, and I was using pads too!! I wouldn't worry too much, the advice I was given is not to seek help unless you are soaking an ultra pad more than once an hour. I am still having some small clots now, I am sooooo sick of it!

How are you feeling otherwise?:hug::hug:

PS have you got one of those wheat bags or a hot water bottle, I found that was the only thing that helped at all with the contractions, painkillers just didnt do a thing

PPS Your doc was a man? what do they know LOL!!!

hi hun
just went to toilet to change pad and as soon as i stood up the pad was full, sat back down on loo and a huge clot came away but it looked like the sack and placenta, the pains are still there but only very very small cramps, nothing like they were half an hour ago, does that mean is almost over, and was that sudden gush of blood because the sack was coming out
love donna

Aww luv hope you are ok? I couldn't say if thats what it was but sounds like it especially if your pains are less now, I really feel for you it is just so traumatic, have you got anyone with you?:hug: I can't believe what we have to go through can you?

Hi...

Sorry for your loss

I think your bleeding is probably normal... With my miscarriage i was 10 wks and had soaked 5 pads in 1hr... my doctor sent me straight to hospital... the bleeding slowed right down within a few hours of passing my baby and i discharged myself that night !

My bleeding lasted about 8 days... with about 6 of them being heavier than my normal period... and i passed alot of clots over the first 4 or 5 days... then i spotted for a few days

I had a lot of pain during my miscarriage and no painkillers worked for me either... i was given painkillers at the hospital but they werent a great help... think they were only paracetamol and co codamol... days later i was still in agony... with some cramp and a really sore pain in my cervix... was agony to sit, walk or move... i told my midwife about it and she was no help at all... She asked my why i was asking her about the pain and not a doctor :growlmad: Least she could have done was asked a doctor for me... I ended up just putting with the pain and being miserable for days coz no1 would help.

Hiya hun :hugs:

sounds like its almost over, you have done it the other way to me, I lost baby first with barely any blood lose or pain then it all started.

I lost baby tuesday lunchtime, pain and major blood and bloodcot lose started thursday lunchtime and ended saturday night.

I am so glad that you are feeling a little better now, as for your gp, hes a man what does he know, what a penis! thats my new favourite saying lol.

By time it took me to post my last comment you had updated your post...

Yeah that sound like its almost over... the bleeding should slow down now also

When i miscarried last year i spent 2 days and nights on the toilet just letting it all come out (sorry tmi!!). The pains were horrendous and i could barely walk downstairs to get my painkillers. I bled for approx 2 weeks in total. Believe me it does get easier. Are you due to go back for a scan to see if its all come away?

Hope things get better soon

you ladys are wonderfull
the pain has completly gone now, went toilet about half hour ago and soon as i sat down i turned the water red but i think thats normal least i hope so, i have dh with me
im guessing the bleeding dosnt stop right away ?

So glad your pain has gone, and to get a scan tomorrow is brilliant! I really wish i could go for another to see if there is anything left but I have to just wait it out for 3 weeks!

Glad your hubby is with you, it is bad enough to go through but to be on your own must be very scary, midwife told me bleeding can carry on for a couple of weeks even when everything is out so am sure you are ok.

Take it easy and rest lots now:hug:

thankyou hun
theres an early preg unit a mile from were i live and i dont even need an appointment just to go whenever i need to, i must admit got really lucky with that

Hi Donna - Dona here!

Reading you message reminds me of my m/c 5 weeks ago. What you have gone through and going though now is exactly what I went through. If you look at prev threads you will see my story. I bled for one week after passing my baby, fortunately for me I did not have too much pain in passing, however, lots and lots and lots of blood.

We tried as soon as the bleeding stopped as doing this is helping me cope (not for some people though). At first was very positive as I was not grieving or so I thought, for a baby. It was for all the preparation and excitement that I missed. Since then I actually think about the baby all the time.

However, it does get better, for me I just put my head into work and focused on creating another life! I have not had my period yet but I hear that this could take upto 6 weeks! I have taken numerous tests but all have come back negative....however you never know and I just keep wishing upon my lucky stars as they say.

Chin up babe........keep positive and I wish you all the best. If you ever need to chat about anything just PM me.

Keep me posted! :hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:
