Upset about getting back SA results

^^^ What she said. Ring up and ask for them to be sent to you.

As for the 98% figure quoted earlier - I find that very hard to believe. I imagine not even 98% of men get re-tested, let alone get a better result.

I'm wondering why they've asked him to do TWO more samples. . . . ?
Rather than just the one. . . ?

If he gets a better results fab! lol

If all my tests come back clear I'm really going to scream :(
How bad is that that I'm hoping I've got a blocked tube :dohh:

Two more may be because they want to do another one soon to check the irst one wasn't a one off, and then the third 3 months down the track to get an "average". You really need to get your hands on the numbers, as 2 more tests seems a bit much if hi sample was only just below par - or it could be your clinic's policy - which is good, as many will start treatment based on just the one.

Thanks hun one is 9th August and the second is the 16th although we think we have to move the second one back a bit . . .

:hugs:

I've just remembered something - when I was first arranging my FS appointment, we had already had one SA done (really bad), so the clinic wanted a second one done to check the first wasn't an anomoly, and the lady I spoke to said if the second one came back bad, then they would probably want to do a third more thorough (and way more expensive) one. I guess they didn't want to rush to the expensive one if it weren't necessary.

Just to let everyone know I'm not longer feeling shit about my OH's 'excellent swimmers' lol
I quite proudly told a friend earlier today :haha:

Although still hoping we get an answer from my tests :flower:

xx

Oh and also 'Sue' never rang back :growlmad:

I just got hold of her again. . . if they don't do a HSG for three months my August appoitment needs to be cancelled and put back until Novemeber / December

This is so crappy :(
Why does everything take so long!!?
I just need to know if there's something wrong with me :(

Sorry to hear its all taking so long hun xx

Im just waiting on my OH's SA results too. I dont know how it normally works..can u ring up for them or do they make u an appointment to discuss them?

I think it could be possible to ring up and get them in some circumstances but we had to go to an appointment O:)

Yes, everything takes ages maaybe, it's so annoying!

If I were you I would get them to clarify those SA results for you - either over the phone or in writing.

If your OH's swimmers were normal, I'd be surprised they were sending him for follow up tests. What would be the point?

Probably just worth checking this out because men often don't understand this stuff or which bits they should be taking note of!

Good luck with the HSG and getting all that sorted too :flower:

It is annoying! lol

I know that's what I was thinking, I know they normally do two but they're asking him to do ANOTHER two

I was asking him what was the count, what were the forms like and he said he never gave him ANY numbers and never mentioned the morphology at all

OK so OH has just rang up the Andrology dept. and they told him they can't give out anything so he'll have to wait until his next appointment in September!!!!!

I'm so angry with him!!
I gave him a list, all he needed to do was write the numbers down next to each factor!!!!

That's so odd. OH called the GP surgery for his, and asked for the specific numbers, which they were happy to read out to him (well, he actually passed the phone to me, lol)

Do you think my OH's GP will have been sent a copy?

xx

I've asked the hospital to send SA results to my GP before, I then made an appointtment with my GP to actually talk through the results.

Should probably add that I had to write a letter requesting the result to be sent to my GP, I then had to chase it up. So was a bit od a mare but I got there in the end!

Do you think we could request to get them sent home?

xx

You should ask. I tried that but was told they had to go to my GP as I wouldn't understand them....:growlmad:

I love the way they do that!!! - with a whispered ... "it'll make more sense to you!"
